The substrate is coated with a coating having a layer of α-Al.sub.2O.sub.3, wherein the α-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer exhibits a texture coefficient TC(0 0 12)≥7.2 and wherein the ratio of I(0 0 12)/I(0 1 14)≥0.8. The coating further includes a MTCVD TiCN layer located between the substrate and the α-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 layer. The MTCVD TiCN layer exhibits a pole figure, as measured by EBSD, in a portion of the MTCVD TiCN layer parallel to the outer surface of the coating and less than 1 μm from the outer surface of the MTCVD TiCN, wherein a pole plot based on the data of the pole figure, with a bin size of 0.25° over a tilt angle range of 0°≤β≤45° from the normal of the outer surface of the coating shows a ratio of intensity within β≤15° tilt angle to the intensity within 0°≤β≤45° of ≥45%.

Single-piece transfer arm structure for analytical instrumentation

Embodiments are directed to a single piece radial transfer arm for use in a clinical analyzer in an in vitro diagnostics (IVD) environment. The transfer arm is comprised of a chassis or elongated, rigid member that provides structural and aesthetic properties, acting as both a mounting base and a cover for transfer arm components. The elongated, rigid member is a single component, such as a single piece of injection-molded plastic. The elongated, rigid member has a top surface, a bottom surface, sidewalls, a pivot end, and a component end. One or more access holes and/or internal component mounting locations are provided for mounting one or more components on the bottom surface. A plurality of radial configuration mounting locations are provided on the bottom surface to allow for multiple radial distances between a pivoting axis of the transfer arm and an attached probe to accommodate arcs of different radii.

Food slicer assembly

A food slicer assembly includes a housing defining a first opening and a second opening perpendicularly arranged. A slicing blade received at the second opening enters the first opening of the housing. A coupling releasably couples a food product or a food product packaging to the housing. The first opening receives a food product therethrough, the second opening receives the slicing blade therethrough, and the slicing blade slices the food product arranged in the first opening such that the food product is divided into multiple portions using the food slicer assembly. The slicing blade may pass into the first opening from a first end, and upon reaching the second end, the slicing blade seals the food slicer assembly at the first opening. The assembly may be a cheese slicer assembly for slicing a block of cheese so that a slice of cheese can be removed from the first opening.

BLADE ASSEMBLY FOR CUTTING FOOD

A blade assembly includes a blade support frame, and a plurality of V-shaped blades removably fastened to the blade support frame. The blade support frame has a food flow path extending downstream, and a plurality of blade mounts distributed around the food flow path. Each V-shaped blade has a first end portion connected to one of the blade mounts, a second end portion connected to another of the blade mounts, and an intermediate portion extending from the first end portion to the second end portion into the food flow path. At the first and second end portions of each V-shaped blade, a respective one of the blade mounts overlies both the upstream edge and the downstream edge of the V-shaped blade to inhibit the V-shaped blade from rotating when impacted by food.

Method for cutting belt-like member, and apparatus therefor

When manufacturing a plurality of strip members by cutting a belt-like member along a length direction thereof, the belt-like member having embedded therein a plurality of reinforcement cords arranged parallel to each other, and a weft thread that intersects the reinforcement cords, a captured image showing images of at least the reinforcement cords in a cross section of one end of the belt-like member in the length direction is used to detect the position of the image of each of the reinforcement cords (RC). The number of the actual reinforcement cord (RC) to which each of the images of the reinforcement cords (RC) corresponds is determined on the basis of an interval between the images of the detected adjacent reinforcement cords (RC) in the image and an average cord interval, and a cutting position (Xa) is set.

Cast Iron Pipe Cutter

The present invention is a cast iron pipe cutter. The cast iron pipe cutter includes a movable upper cutting tool and a rigid lower cutting tool. The upper cutting tool and lower cutting tool includes multiple cutting disc spaced an arc length apart. As the upper cutting tool is advanced downward by a hydraulic press, the cutting discs apply increasing pressure to the outer surface of a cast iron pipe until each cutting discs in the upper cutting tool and the lower cutting tool creates a fracture in the cast iron pipe. The multiple fractures created by the cutting discs amalgamate into a single fracture and the cast iron pipe is cut almost instantaneously.
