Systems and methods for minimizing a total number of cuts to separate media instances imaged onto a media sheet
A system and method utilizes strategies, priority rules, specifications, and comparisons to calculate the fewest number of cuts to separate individual instances from an imaged media sheet. Embodiments of the systems and methods may produce an optimal or more efficient arrangement of the media instances on an imaged media to minimize a total number of cuts to separate the instances, and thus reduce an overall cost.
Methods and apparatus for compensating for thermal expansion during additive manufacturing
Embodiments of the present disclosure are drawn to additive manufacturing apparatus and methods. An exemplary additive manufacturing method may include forming a part using additive manufacturing. The method may also include bringing the part to a first temperature, measuring the part along at least three axes at the first temperature, bringing the part to a second temperature, different than the first temperature, and measuring the part along the at least three axes at the second temperature. The method may further include comparing the size of the part at the first and second temperatures to calculate a coefficient of thermal expansion, generating a tool path that compensates for the coefficient of thermal expansion, bringing the part to the first temperature, and trimming the part while the part is at the first temperature using the tool path.
CONTAMINATION PROTECTION DURING TRANSPORT OF FOOD PORTIONS
The invention relates to a device for moving portions each comprising at least one slice separated from a food product, in particular by a slicing device, in particular by a high-speed slicer, having a plurality of individually movable transport movers for transporting portions, having a track system for the transport movers, in which the transport movers can be moved along at least one specified track in a transport direction and having a control device for controlling the movements of the transport movers in the track system, wherein the transport movers each comprise at least one runner cooperating with the track system and at least one portion carrier mounted on the runner, wherein for at least one sub-section of the track, in particular a section at risk of contamination, a discharge device is provided which is designed to at least intermittently discharge next to the section, contamination and/or incorrect portions originating from the foods, in particular occurring when cutting the food products and/or during handling of the portions.
CUTTING APPARATUS
A cutting apparatus includes a chuck table for holding a workpiece, a cutting blade for cutting the workpiece which is held by the chuck table, and a blade cover disposed in covering relation to an outer circumference of the cutting blade. The workpiece is cut in a dry state by the cutting blade while cut dusts produced from the workpiece and rotating with the cutting blade are being discharged through a tubular member under suction by a cut dusts retrieving unit mounted on the blade cover.
Cutting device capable of appropriately performing cutting operations even when one of first and second detecting portions does not normally operate
A cutting device includes: a movable blade; a moving mechanism moving the movable blade and having a first mechanism portion movable between a first operating position and a first non-operating position and a second mechanism portion movable between a second operating position and a second non-operating position; a first detecting portion and a second detecting portion detecting positions of the first mechanism portion and the second mechanism portion; and a controller configured to perform: setting, when one of the first detecting portion and the second detecting portion detects abnormally, updated positions of the first operating position and the second operating position or the first non-operating position and the second non-operating position. The updated positions are set based on detection result of another of the first detecting portion and the second detecting portion and are new start points of movement of the first mechanism portion and the second mechanism portion.
MATERIAL PROCESSING SYSTEM
A material processing system includes: an offsetter configured to receive a stack of material and including a lifting bar configured to lift a portion of the stack of material; and a processing station operably connected to the offsetter. A method of processing a material includes: loading a stack of material on an offsetter, the stack of material including a first portion and a second portion, the first portion positioned above the second portion and separated from the second portion by at least one cross tie, the stack of material including a first end and a second end distal from the first end; lifting the second portion away from the first portion by a lifting bar of the offsetter pushing upward on the second end; and removing the cross tie.
Apparatus for processing setting for punching rows of holes in sheet, method therefor and storage medium
An apparatus includes a storage unit and a control unit. The storage unit stores conflict information indicating that a setting for printing a predetermined number of pages on one surface of one sheet conflicts with a setting for punching a plurality of rows of holes in the one sheet. The control unit performs control to prohibit generation of a print command including the printing and punching settings based on the conflict information stored in the storage unit.
Cutting apparatus and cutting control program therefor
A cutting apparatus includes a holding member disposed at a position opposed to a cutting blade and having an adhesive layer removably holding an object, a pressing unit pressing the object held by the holding member and having a contact portion brought into contact with the object, a region specifying unit specifying a region where an adhesive retention of the adhesive layer is insufficient along a cutting line of the object cut by the blade, and a control unit controlling the pressing unit so that when the object is cut by moving the blade and the holding member holding the object relative to each other, at least either an amount of pressing or a pressing force of the contact portion is changed between a case where the region specified by the region specifying unit is cut and a case where any part other than the specified region is cut.
