Methods of operating cutting tools
A method of cutting a tie wrap, bound about at least one wire, using a cutting tool is provided. The method comprising steps of: applying a housing of the cutting tool to the tie wrap, positioning a portion of the tie wrap within a first groove of the housing between first two opposing sidewalls and second two opposite sidewalls of the housing, moving the at least one wire and maintaining the at least one wire a distance away from the tie wrap, moving a circular blade of the cutting tool against the portion of the tie wrap, positioned within the first groove, and at least partially cutting the tie wrap with the circular blade. In some examples, the method further comprises controlling a depth of the circular blade within the tie wrap while the circular blade at least partially cuts the tie wrap.
Cutting methods
A tool for cutting a tie wrap bound about a wire bundle. The tool includes a body portion having a generally disc-shaped cutter and cutting edge. A shield covers one side of the cutter and defines first and second shield slots in communication with the cutting edge. A housing pivotally connected to the body portion covers the other side of the cutter and defines first and second housing slots that communicate with the cutting edge. The housing pivots between first, second, and third positions. In the first position, the first housing slot communicates with the first shield slot to expose the cutting edge for cutting purposes. In the second position, the first housing slot is out of communication with the first shield slot, thereby covering the cutting edge. And, in the third position, the second housing slot communicates with the second shield slot to expose the cutting edge.
DEVICE FOR THE ROBOTIC PRINTING OF INDIVIDUALLY-PRINTED BOOKS, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A device for manufacturing a book on demand, including a cover printing or receiving station designed to respectively print or receive a cover, a body printing or receiving station designed to respectively print or receive a body, a binding station designed to join together the body and the cover, a conveyor designed and/or programmed to convey the cover and/or the body between the different stations, the device is designed to deposit glue in a gluing region on the verso of the cover inside the binding station before the cover and the body are joined together by gluing, forming a book.
Cutting apparatus for cutting a substantially V-shaped strip from meat products fed in a transport direction T and method and apparatus for removing a substantially V-shaped strip from meat products fed in a transport direction T having such a cutting apparatus
A cutting apparatus for cutting an essentially V-shaped strip from meat products fed in a transport direction has a knife carrier to which two knife units are assigned. Each knife unit has a circular knife and a drive for rotationally driving the circular knife about a central axis of rotation. The two circular knives are set substantially in a V-shape to each other in a position enclosing an angle. An adjustable arrangement of the knife units provides for setting of the size of the angle. The offset of the two central axes of rotation to each other is equal to zero in the transport direction and the two knife units are adjustable exclusively synchronously with each other. A corresponding apparatus and method for cutting an essentially V-shaped strip from meat products fed in transport direction is also provided.
QUILTING TEMPLATES AND METHOD OF USING SAME
Embodiments of the invention include various different shapes and sized of templates having an inner voided space or inside shape produced by a plurality of internal edges. One or more slits, sized and proportioned to accommodate a rotary cutter, are positioned at corners formed between the internal edges. The templates are particularly useful for quilters to cut quickly and easily cut the requisite patchwork pieces needed to make a quilt using a rotary cutter. The positioning and sizing of the slits resulting in minimal fabric wastage. The templates are made from a durable material, including but not limited to acrylic, plastic, wood, metal, or any other resilient material known in the art. The acrylic or plastic templates may be colored or clear.
CUTTING DEVICE
A cutting device for cutting a pipe having a pipe wall. The cutting device includes an elongate carrier having a tool end which is engageable with a power tool and an opposed free end. The device includes a guide wheel located at the free end of the carrier which is loosely mounted thereon for rotation relative thereto, having a bearing surface extending parallel to a longitudinal axis of the carrier. The device also includes a cutting element having a peripheral cutting edge which is located adjacent to the guide wheel being positioned intermediate the guide wheel and the tool end. The cutting element is of greater transverse dimension than the guide wheel so that when the bearing surface bears against an internal surface of the pipe the distance between the cutting edge of the cutting element and the bearing surface enables the cutting element to cut through the pipe wall.
REFINED DEVICE FOR CUTTING TAPES
An improved device for cutting tapes and, in particular, to a device for multiple cutting of adhesive reinforced tapes to be used in the rehabilitation field. Furthermore, the device is advantageously practical and versatile to satisfy any requirement that may arise when using the adhesive tape.
SAMPLING PROBE AND AUTOMATIC SEPARATION DEVICE THEREOF, AND USE METHOD
Provided are a sampling probe and a sampling probe automatic separation device, and a use method thereof. The sampling probe comprises a probe tail area (1) and a probe sampling area (2) connected to the top of the probe tail area (1). The probe sampling area (2) comprises a two-piece mold housing component (3) and a sample (4) disposed inside the two-piece mold housing component (3). The two-piece mold housing component (3) is wound and fixed by means of an adhesive tape capable of burning and melting. The automatic separation device comprises a cutting device (5) for cutting a sampling probe, and an inclined bottom plate. The front end of the inclined bottom plate is placed close to the cutting device (5). The inclined bottom plate gradually inclines downwards from the front end to the rear end. A first posture adjustment device (9), a first separation device (10), a second posture adjustment device (11), and a second separation device (12) are sequentially arranged between the front end and the rear end of the inclined bottom plate. Not only the problem that it is difficult to separate the sample from a housing can be effectively solved, but also the situation that an actuation mechanism is stuck with each component is avoided by constraint on the posture of each component.
