According to some embodiments, a fishing rod attachment is disclosed. The fishing rod attachment is used to create drag on a fishing line. The fishing rod attachment device may include an upper jaw and a housing. The upper jaw is coupled to the housing where the housing includes (i) a lower jaw and (ii) a device clip to couple the housing to a fishing rod.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for balance index determination. For example, a wearable apparatus may have at least one gyroscope configured to measure angular velocity about a first axis; at least one inertial measurement device (IMU) configured to measure deviation along a second axis and a third axis; at least one memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: receive angular velocity measurements over a period of time from the at least one gyroscope; receive deviations from the second axis and from the third axis over the period of time from the at least one IMU; weight the deviations based on directions associated with the deviations; and generate a composite balance index based on the angular velocity measurements, the weighted deviations from the second axis, and the weighted deviations from the third axis.

A deck mount fishing rod holder apparatus for securing fishing rods without clamps includes a base having a base top side, a base bottom side, a mounting portion and a plurality of arm portions. A plurality of mounting apertures receives an engagement portion of a seat post of a seat on a boat to secure the base to rest on a deck of the boat. A plurality of rod holders is pivotably coupled to the base top side of the arm portions. A holder bottom side of each rod holder is angled to rest flush on the base top side in a fish position. A cylindrical holder sidewall extends away from the base top side at an angle greater than 90°. Each rod holder secures a fishing rod and is pivotable back towards the base top side to allow for hook setting without removing the fishing rod.

Proposed is a fishing line preparation instrument for a fishing rod guide ring, the instrument being capable of allowing a user to accurately rig a fishing line to a plurality of guide rings and shortening a rigging time. The fishing line preparation instrument is used for a blank type fishing rod in which a plurality of guide rings are disposed at fixed intervals, and includes a guide ring insertion member configured to be inserted into the plurality of guide rings, and a fishing line fixing part provided at least one of a first end and a second end of the guide ring insertion member and configured to removably fix a fishing line to the guide ring insertion member.

Proposed is a fishing line preparation instrument for a fishing rod guide ring, the instrument being capable of allowing a user to accurately rig a fishing line to a plurality of guide rings and shortening a rigging time. A tool for feeding a fishing line through the eyelets of a fishing rod has a loop of filament attached to an elongated guide and twisted across itself at a distal overlap to form a figure-eight with proximal and distal portions wider and narrower, respectively, than the eyelets. The wider portion facilitates insertion of a free end of the line into the loop. The loop is resiliently flexible so that the overlap separates and then recovers as the inserted line is passed transversely through the gap into the narrower portion of the figure-eight. The passed line is then transversely wedged in the narrower portion of the figure-eight. The loop is also resiliently flexible so that, as the guide leads the loop and the line through each eyelet, the wider portion of the loop compresses and then expands, inhibiting inadvertent withdrawal of the tool from an eyelet.

A fishing apparatus and a method for controlling the same. The fishing apparatus includes: a fishing rod having a reel and a motor connected with the reel; a brainwave collection unit arranged to collect a brainwave signal from a user of the fishing apparatus; and a control unit arranged to receive the brainwave signal collected by the brainwave collection unit. The apparatus generates a motor control signal according to the brainwave signal and transmits the motor control signal to the motor. The motor drives the reel to rotate under the control of the motor control signal. The fishing apparatus and the method for controlling the same as provided by the present disclosure are easy to use and labor-saving.

A hanger for use in fishing, which is mounted on a rod body of a fishing rod and hangs a fish hook or a fishing line, is provided. The hanger includes a mounting shaft portion, a hanging portion, and a protection portion. The mounting shaft portion is fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the rod body. The hanging portion is supported by the mounting shaft portion and hangs the fish hook or the fishing line. The protection portion is rotatably coupled to the mounting shaft portion and covers the hanging portion. The protection portion is rotatable to an open position where the protection portion exposes the hanging portion and a closed position where the protection portion covers the hanging portion such that the hanging portion and the protection portion pinch the fish hook or the fishing line.

A fish hook insertion assembly includes a fish hook that has a leader which is attached to the fish hook. A grapple is provided that has a shaft portion and a handle portion. The shaft portion has a pointed end and the shaft portion is elongated such that the shaft portion can be extended into a mouth of a bait fish thereby facilitating the pointed end to penetrate outwardly through the bait fish at a point located proximate an anus of the bait fish. A slot is integrated into the shaft portion and the slot engages the leader to pull the leader through the bait fish when the grapple is pulled outwardly from the mouth of the bait fish. In this way the fish hook can be pulled partially into the bait fish to facilitate the bait fish to be employed for fishing.
