An adjustable tension kite holding and release apparatus, which has an apparatus head, and an apparatus body having an adjustable thumbscrew coupled to the apparatus body, and first and second ring grippers having first and second bumps providing a ring gripping mechanism at a distal end of the apparatus body. The ring gripping mechanism holding a releasable ring, running a fishing line through the releasable ring, tightening the adjustable thumbscrew such that the ring gripping mechanism applies tension to the releasable ring, and increasing or decreasing the tension based on an estimated force desired to release the releasable ring.

The present invention relates to a fishing camera assembly for coupling to a fishing line. The assembly includes a camera and a carrier for carrying the camera along the line. The carrier includes an openable surround (e.g. tube) that surrounds the line. Advantageously, the surround can be opened to readily release the camera from the line thereby reducing complication to the angler's tackle set-up.

Flight based marine object search, detection and identification systems and related techniques include an unmanned aerial system (UAS) having a flight platform configured to execute a search path to search for an underwater object, an imaging system comprising image capture components configured to generate a stream of images corresponding to a field of view of the UAS, and a logic device associated with the UAS and configured to analyze the stream of images using a marine video analysis (MVA) system to detect a region of interest comprising an underwater object, identify an underwater object in the detected region of interest, and notify a mobile structure of the identified object.

Knot Tying Device
20220312752 · 2022-10-06 ·

A knot tying device is described. Embodiments of the knot tying device can include, but are not limited to, a shaft, a spring, a slide member, and an end stop. The shaft can include a slot for receiving a fishing line therethrough and trapping the fishing line between the slide member and the end stop of the knot tying device. When the fishing line is secured to the knot tying device, the knot tying device can be implemented to thread the fishing line through and around the fishing line based on a type of knot being tied.

TAGGING AND CULLING SYSTEM FOR FISHING
20220279766 · 2022-09-08 ·

Systems and methods for tagging, culling, or tagging and culling fish include various elements. For example, the systems and methods may be implemented on a scale for weighing fish and may maintain a pre-determined color order to suggest a next-up color for a cull tag. In addition, the pre-determined color order may be dynamically updated in real time to account for overrides by an angler or releasing of an already caught fish. In an additional aspect, the scale may have an integrated global positioning system (GPS) sensor to capture position information associated with the catch and used to pull other relevant information.
