TREATED LAMINATED VENEER LUMBER AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A method of making treated laminated veneer lumber (LVL) according to one example of the present disclosure includes obtaining assembled LVL. The assembled LVL comprises a plurality of layers of veneer wood assembled together with adhesive. The LVL is loaded into a pressure chamber. A vacuum is created in the pressure chamber thereby removing air from the plurality of layers of veneer wood of the LVL. Inorganic solution is added into the pressure chamber. The pressure chamber is pressurized to force the inorganic solution into the wood creating the treated LVL.

Cross-laminated timber processing equipment
A cross-laminated timber processing equipment comprises a longitudinal board loading mechanism, a transverse board loading mechanism, an adhesive spraying mechanism, laying cars, presses, a transfer car, and an unloading car. The longitudinal board loading mechanism lays longitudinal boards on a laying car at an assembly station, and the transverse board loading mechanism lays transverse boards on the laying car. The longitudinal boards and the transverse boards are perpendicularly and alternately laid layer by layer. The adhesive spraying mechanism is provided above the assembly station, and sprays an adhesive on the upper surfaces of assembled boards. The transfer car moves back and forth between a conveying station and an idle press through the assembly station, carries the laying cars and the assembled boards, and feeds the laying cars and the assembled boards into the presses for compaction. The unloading car moves back and forth between a press completing compaction and an unloading station, and conveys an idle laying car to the assembly station. Compared with other international similar equipment, this equipment can implement fully-automatic cross-laminated timber processing and production, and has low apparatus cost, high production capacity, high processing efficiency, and a great leading advantage.
Method and System for Sequencing Veneer to Lumbercore
A method for sequencing veneer to lumbercore includes receiving a veneer grain width input and a veneer thickness input, determining a cut angle based on the veneer grain width input and the veneer thickness input, receiving a lumbercore width input and a lumbercore height input, determining a set of dimensions for a stack of lumber, and generating a template mapping the lumbercore to the stack of lumber, where the template is based on the lumbercore width input, the lumbercore height input, and the set of dimensions for the stack of lumber, where the lumbercore is rotated within the template at an angle relative to horizontal within the stack of lumber by an amount equal to the cut angle.
Method for establishing a posteriori a match between a piece of wood and a log from which the piece of wood has been obtained
A method for establishing a posteriori a match between a piece of wood and a log from which the piece of wood has been obtained, comprising the following operating steps of performing a tomographic scan of the wooden log, of calculating or selecting a log cutting pattern, of defining, starting with the tomographic information available, one or more virtual individualising characteristics which are linked to the distribution and/or size of physical characteristics of the log inside and/or on the surface of the self-same virtual piece of wood, of saving them in a database, together with information about the identity of the log, of dividing the log into real pieces of wood according to the cutting pattern, of acquiring real information about the distribution and/or size of physical characteristics of the log inside and/or on the surface of a real piece of wood and of defining corresponding real individualising characteristics to be compared with virtual individualising characteristics saved and of identifying an origin of the real piece of wood based on the information about the identity of the log which is saved together with the virtual individualising characteristics which match the real individualising characteristics.
