AUTOMATED DOOR ASSEMBLY SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present invention is directed to a method of making a door having first and second door facings and an internal doorframe. An interior side of a first facing is coated with quick acting adhesive. A frame is placed on the coated interior side about the periphery of the first facing. The frame is then coated with quick acting adhesive. An interior side of a second facing is placed on the coated frame. The facings and frame assembly are then compressed to form a door. The present invention also provides for an automated system of making the door.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COATING WORKPIECES
The invention relates to a device (1) for coating workpieces (2), preferably consisting of wood, wood-based materials, plastics material or the like at least in sections, comprising a feed device (10) for feeding a coating material (12), a pressing unit (20) for pressing the coating material (12) against a surface (2a) of a workpiece (2), a conveyor device (4) for bringing about a relative motion between the pressing device (20) and the respective workpiece (2), an energy source (30) for applying energy onto the coating material (12) and/or the workpiece (2), and a control device (50) for controlling at least the energy source (30). The device according to the invention is characterized in that the energy source (30) comprises at least two energy generating sections (30, 30), wherein the control device (50) is equipped to operate at least two energy generating sections (30, 30) at least intermittently with at least one operating parameter, the parameters being different from each other, or the energy generating sections are different from each other.
DEVICE FOR FIXING AN EDGE MATERIAL
A device for fixing an edge material to a narrow side of a panel-shaped workpiece is provided, which has a feed mechanism for supplying the edge material to the narrow side of the workpiece, at least one infrared emitter for activating an adhesive layer, facing the workpiece, of the edge material, and a pressing mechanism for pressing the edge material onto the narrow side of the workpiece. In order to activate the adhesive layer of the edge material by means of infrared radiation using a reliable process without adversely affecting the visible face of the edge material, a radiation exposure zone with a specifiable size is arranged in the feed path of the edge material. In the exposure zone, the adhesive layer of the edge material is exposed to infrared radiation. The device has a guide mechanism for guiding the edge material through the radiation exposure zone.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COATING WORKPIECES
The invention concerns a device (1) for the coating of workpieces (2) which preferably consist, at least in sections, of wood, wooden materials, plastics, aluminium or the like, comprising: a feed means (10) for feeding a coating material (12), a pressing means (20) for pressing the coating material (12) onto a surface (2a) of a workpiece (2), a conveyor means (4) for causing a relative motion between the pressing means (20) and the respective workpiece (2), and a first joining means (30; 50) for applying and/or activating an adhesive agent on a coating material (12) fed by the feed means (10) and/or a surface to be coated of the workpiece (2), characterized in that the device further comprises at least a second joining means (40; 60) for applying and/or activating an adhesive agent on a coating material (12) fed by the feed means (10) and/or a surface to be coated of a workpiece (2).
Method and apparatus for producing figured veneer
A method for making a piece of figured veneer comprises softening lignin in a sheet of veneer, and advancing the sheet of veneer between a first roller having a semi-flexible outer surface and a second roller. Apparatus for making a piece of figured veneer comprises a device for softening lignin in a sheet of veneer, and first and second rollers between which the sheet of veneer is pressed. The first roller has a semi-flexible outer surface.

Method for coating components
A method for coating workpieces (10), preferably in sheet form, which preferably consist at least in certain portions of wood, wood-based materials, plastic or the like, with the following method steps: providing a workpiece (10) having at least one workpiece surface (12), in which the workpiece surface (12) is improved by applying at least a first curable liquid to the workpiece surface (12) and at least partially curing the first liquid (16); exposing the workpiece (10) to energy, at least on the workpiece surface (12) and/or a coating (14) that is intended to be applied to the workpiece surface (12); and applying the coating (14), in particular of an edge (14), to the liquid-coated workpiece surface (12) and preferably pressing the edge (14) onto a liquid-coated workpiece surface (12).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR KERFING VENEERS
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for laser kerfed veneers. A laser may be used to produce kerf lines in thin veneers. The settings of the laser may be adjusted to adjust the width and depth of the kerf lines. The width and depth of the kerf lines may be selected in order to provide sufficient strength to the veneer while decreasing telegraphing.
