Microemulsions and their use in metal working fluids, wood stains, or wood sealers
The present disclosure is directed to compositions including a microemulsion comprising a blend of lecithin, a co-surfactant, and a salt of an acidifier, an ester of an acidifier, or combinations thereof. Uses of the compositions are also disclosed.
Methods and systems for impregnating wood with a polymer solution and products thereof
The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to methods and systems for impregnating wood with a polymer solution and products thereof. In some embodiments, the present disclosure relates to a method of processing a wood piece to generate a wood product, the method comprising: (a) placing the wood piece into a reactor having a chamber pressure of a vacuum environment; (b) exposing the wood piece to a polymer solution; (c) performing an iterative process where each cycle of the iterative process comprises a pressurizing period during which the chamber pressure is increased to an increased chamber pressure and a stabilizing period during which the chamber pressure is monitored to measure a chamber pressure decrease, if any; (d) when the decrease of chamber pressure during the stabilizing period is less than or equal to the certain threshold change, normalizing the reactor chamber to a normalized pressure; and (e) setting the wood piece to generate the wood product. The present disclosure further relates to a wood product generated by a method of processing a wood piece.
Process for repairing damage to wood and related cellulosic products caused by termites and other wood damaging insects
The present invention provides for a process for repairing damage to wood and related cellulosic products caused by termites and other wood damaging insects comprising the steps of providing a modification of the bacteria of the genus gluconacetobacter toxic to termites and other wood damaging insects; converting said bacterial modification into a bait attractive to termites and other wood damaging insects as a source of food; and allowing said bacterial modification to produce a by-product ooze capable of repairing would damaged by termites and other wood damaging insects. The process causes the build-up of wood like material, thus effectively repairing the termite damaged areas.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING CELLULOSE-BASED MATERIALS WITH MICRONIZED ADDITIVES
A composition for treating cellulosic materials is provided. The composition comprises a dispersion of micronized additives. The dispersion comprises additive particles with diameters in the range of 0.001 to 25 microns. Also provided is a method for the application of the additive-containing composition to wood, as well as wood products which have been treated with the composition.
MICRONIZED WOOD PRESERVATIVE FORMULATIONS
The present invention provides wood preservative compositions comprising micronized particles. In one embodiment, the composition comprises dispersions of micronized metal or metal compounds. In another embodiment, the wood preservative composition comprises an inorganic component comprising a metal or metal compound and organic biocide. When the composition comprises an inorganic component and an organic biocide, the inorganic component or the organic biocide or both are present as micronized particles. When compositions of the present invention are used for preservation of wood, there is minimal leaching of the metal and biocide from the wood.
Method for Making Nano Veneer
A process for producing nano veneers generally involving: placing a veneer to be treated in a vacuum vessel; adding a nano carbon powder and nano silicon dioxide suspension in the vacuum vessel; reducing the pressure in the vessel over a first period of time; increasing the pressure in the vessel; letting the contents of the vessel rest over a second period of time. The veneer may optionally be subjected to ultrasonic treatment, ultraviolet solidification treatment, or subsequent pressurization treatments to obtain the final nano veneer product. As a result, veneer manufactured using embodiments of the present invention will have the advantages of high strength, wear resistance, pollution resistance, acid and alkali resistance, water segregation and decay resistance.
BIOCIDAL MIXTURES
The invention relates to biocidal mixtures comprising penflufen-containing polymer particles, copper compounds and specific alkanolamines and to the use thereof for protecting wood and wood products, and also to wood preservatives comprising biocidal mixtures and optionally further active ingredients.
Spirit flavored and scented wooden articles
Wooden articles such as toothpicks, stir sticks, skewers and chopsticks made from substrate wood that has been impregnated with spirit liquid or vapor. The substrate may come from spirit producing barrels or from other wood involved in the spirit making process.
