Fuel procurement tool and method(s) of use
A handheld tool configured to procure fuel is described. Embodiments of the fuel procurement tool include a handhold having a cutting mechanism located proximate one end of the handhold. Typically, the cutting mechanism can include at least one cutter link having a depth gauge, a top plate, and a gullet formed between the depth gauge and the top plate. The fuel procurement tool can be implemented to procure kindling from a piece of wood.
Apparatus for splitting wood into kindling
A specialized wood splitting tool and chopping block, used together, enable cutting kindling from ordinary firewood in an effective and safe manner. The splitting tool uses leverage in addition to downward momentum of the cutting head to split wood. The metal handle and metal cutting head are preferably formed from a single piece of steel, in a perpendicular configuration similar to an adz. A splitting wedge blade within the handle exerts transverse shear forces to enhance splitting, and flat upper surfaces of the cutting head and the handle near the joint provide a striking surface. A complimentary chopping block for bracing logs of various diameters in a steady upright position has a V-shaped recess that is open on one end. The chopping block provides resistance to the unique leverage of the splitting tool during the splitting action.
Battery Powered Portable Log Splitter
The present invention relates to a Li-Ion battery powered log splitter. The log splitter includes a steel frame having height adjustable legs and wheels for making the device both adjustable vertically and portable. The log splitter also features a hydraulic pump system powered by an integrated direct current (DC) motor. The DC motor receives power from the Li-Ion battery and spins the pump system for activating a steel plate and rod mechanism to section a log of wood placed on a track of the log splitter into at least two pieces. The size and output of the batteries, motor, and pump can be increased or decreased to suit user preference or need, and users can easily operate the log splitter to easily and safely split wood into sections or pieces for campfires, outdoor fire pits, ovens and much more.
OPTIMIZED STUMP HARVESTER
There is disclosed a system and methods of use for quickly and efficiently excavating, cross-cutting, splitting, and loading or stockpiling tree stumpage and other tree or organic materials, as well as for performing ground cleanup operations. One embodiment provides a stump harvester for attachment to a distal end of an excavator arm. The stump harvester may include front and back jaw assemblies configured to pivot between open and closed positions. The back jaw assembly may include a knife arm having a cutting blade that extends along a majority of a front side of the knife arm. A centerline plane may bisect a cutting edge of the blade. The front jaw assembly may include a planar-aligned dual anvil configured to sheath the cutting edge of the blade when the front and the back jaw assemblies move into the closed position. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Platform with an autonomous powering engine for mounting onto a firewood splitting apparatus
A platform for mounting of an autonomous powering engine onto a firewood splitting apparatus includes a rigid bearing frame on which a powering engine is mounted. The engine is connected to a transmission, which is mechanically connected with a cardan coupling of a firewood splitting apparatus. The frame is arranged a distance apart from the ground and in a plane parallel to a plane defined by resting surfaces on supporting legs of a firewood splitting machine. The frame is furnished with two parallel and pivotal linear bearing beams that are pivotal around the axis that extends perpendicularly with respect to the plane of the frame and is pivotally connected with each corresponding connecting seat to establish a detachable interconnection with each disposable bottom connecting seat on a firewood splitting apparatus.

Timber Processing System and Method
A timber processing system includes a frame including a mount for attaching to a skid steer, tractor, excavator, or the like; and a grapple attached to the frame for moving timber pieces into place for cutting by a saw.
WEDGE HOLDER FOR LOG SPLITTING
A wedge holder system and kit and method for splitting a log having a polymer foam block member with a concave top surface forming a basin with raised left and right longitudinal sides paralleling a center axis, the top surface designed to conform to a rounded side of a log. A planar bottom surface of the block member is designed to rest on a log cross section. At least one slot portion through the foam block member is designed to hold an at least one metal wedge member vertically to drive the metal wedge into a log. At least one V-shaped notch portion for holding wood vertically may be disposed within at least one exterior longitudinal side portion of the polymer foam block member. Polymer foam block members may be adjacent or coupled lengthwise or vertically.
Log splitter
A wedge mounting bracket for a log splitter includes a mounting plate and a female slot into which a corresponding male adapter of the wedge is received. In particular, a replaceable wedge includes a knife edge and a male adapter configured to be slideably received within the female slot of the mounting bracket. A through hole in the wedge is configured to align with a corresponding through hole in the mounting bracket to releasably secure the wedge within the mounting bracket using a nut and bolt assembly. In this way, the wedge may be conveniently removed from the log splitter for sharpening, while leaving the load bearing mounting hardware intact.
