Material reduction machine with dynamic infeed control
A material reduction machine includes a prime mover driving a cutting mechanism. An infeed portion engages a piece of material to feed it forward to the cutting mechanism. A sensor senses a machine load parameter via the cutting mechanism and/or prime mover and reports a signal to a controller operatively coupled to the infeed portion to control sequential cutting cycles on the piece of material. The controller utilizes a stored first stop threshold value for stopping a first cutting cycle and continues monitoring the signal as machine load increases momentarily after reaching the first stop threshold. The controller determines and adopts a second stop threshold value based on observation of the machine load parameter indicative of maximum load during the continued monitoring following attainment of the first stop threshold, and further being based on a stored correction factor. The second stop threshold value is used for a second cutting cycle.
Wood chipper
A wood chipper comprising a chamber in which wood is chipped, a discharge of chipped wood from the chamber, and a pair of rollers at least one of which is driven. The rollers are positioned for feeding of wood between the rollers and into the chamber. One of the rollers is a smooth roller, and an other of the rollers is driven and has cutting elements thereon. The at least one roller is driven by a hydrostatic pump. A plurality of legs are height adjustable for supporting the wood chipper and for positioning a power receiving means at different heights for aligning with connection to a tractor power take-off.
Extendable structure and relative movement method
An extendable structure adapted to operate between a retracted configuration and at least one at least partially extended configuration includes a box-like body, a foldable floor element, and a foldable ceiling element. The box-like body includes a first and a second upright. The foldable floor element is hinged at a lower portion of the uprights and is configured for being folded and spread out. The foldable ceiling element is hinged at an upper portion of the uprights and is configured for being folded and spread out. In the retracted configuration of the extendable structure, the foldable floor element and the foldable ceiling element are completely housed within the box-like body, which defines an overall size of the extendable structure.
Process for the production of OSB wood-based boards with reduced emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
A process for the production of OSB wood-based panels including: a) producing wood strands from suitable wood logs; b) treating at least part of the wood strands with steam at a temperature between 80 C. and 120 C. and a pressure between 0.5 bar and 2 bar; c) drying the steam-treated wood strands; d) gluing the steam-treated and dried wood strands and, optionally, gluing the non-steam treated wood strands with at least one binder; e) scattering the glued wood strands onto a conveyor belt; and f) pressing the glued wood strands into an OSB wood-based board. The steam treatment takes place after the wood strands have been produced and made available, or after the wood strands have been sifted and separated according to the use of the wood strands for the middle and top layers of the panel. Also, an OSB wood-based panel made using the process.
Implement for wood chipper
An implement that is a tool made entirely of wood used for pushing debris into the feeder of a wood chipper. The implement includes a handle long enough for the safe operation by an average sized human that is attached to a head. The head includes a flat paddle that is shaped to conform to the dimensions of the feeder of a wood chipper. The flat paddle has a bottom portion, a top portion and side portions. The top portion attaches to the handle. The bottom portion is what is fed into the feeder. The bottom portion includes a brush bar that extends outward from the flat portion perpendicularly in both directions. Two additional side brush bars are attached to each side of the flat paddle and likewise extend outwardly perpendicularly in both directions. The handle and brush bars can be attached with dado joints and wood glue or can be formed integrally without the need for the dado joints.
Comminuting unit for a comminuting device for comminuting feed material, in particular knife basket
A comminuting unit for a comminuting device for comminuting feed material, in particular a knife basket, with a plurality of rod-shaped blade supports concentrically arranged about an axis, which at their ends are each rigidly connected with a support ring or supporting disc that are concentric to the axis. At least one of the blade supports has a receptacle for securing a knife assembly having a chipping blade, wherein the blades of all chipping blades have a common radial distance from the axis. Between the blade support and the knife assembly at least one adjusting device is provided, with which the radial distance is adjustable. The receptacle has a receiving strip and a clamping strip, which are mounted in axially parallel position detachably on the blade support, the knife assembly being tensioned against the receiving strip via the clamping strip.
IMPACT CUTTER BLADE AND HOLDER SYSTEM AND METHOD
An impact cutter blade and holder system is disclosed. The impact cutter blade and holder system includes: a cutter disk, a plurality of impact holders, and a plurality of impact cutter blades. The cutter disk has a central axis about which the cutter disk is configured to rotate. The plurality of impact holders are secured to the cutter disk. The plurality of impact cutter blades is secured to the plurality of impact holders.
Canter Head and Reversible Knife Therefor
There is provided a canter head. There is also provided a canter head including at least one reversible knife, as well as a reversible knife for a canter head.
BARK REMOVAL APPARATUS FOR CHIPPING MACHINE
An apparatus for use in debarking logs that includes a debarking assembly for separating bark from logs as the logs are passed through the apparatus, such that the separated bark falls away from the logs. A contact surface catches falling bark that has been separated from logs by the debarking assembly. A pusher reciprocates over the contact surface and includes a first pusher face that pushes bark over the contact surface. A magnet reciprocates with the pusher and may be selectively activated and deactivated. When the magnet is activated, a magnetic field is provided proximate the first pusher face such that magnetically attracted portions in the bark that are brought within the magnetic field as the pusher reciprocates are magnetically attracted to the first pusher face by the magnetic field and are separated from the bark.
Disc chipper for crushing lumpy feed material, particularly wood
A disc chipper for crushing lumpy feed material. The disc chipper has a crushing rotor driven by a drive unit, rotating about an axle, including a rotor shaft and a chipping disc connected in a rotationally fixed manner with the rotor shaft. The chipper disc includes chipping knives, which are transversely aligned in the disc plane to the rotational direction and which cooperate with stationary counter knives for the comminution of the feed material. The drive unit include a primary drive and a secondary drive, which drive the crushing rotor via a transmission, wherein the primary drive is in active operative connection with the crushing rotor during the crushing operation, and the secondary drive during the acceleration process or when readjusting the crushing rotor for purposes of maintenance and repair.
