Box joint blade system
A box-joint blade system includes left- and right-directed blades that each include a saw plate, a set of saw tips, and a set of gullets disposed between the tips. The tips of each blade are axially offset from the saw plate in opposite directions, such that the blades may be mounted on the axis of the saw in either a first configuration, with left and right saw tips outwardly offset and producing a wide cut, or a second configuration, with the tips inwardly offset and producing a narrow cut. In at least the second configuration, the tips of each blade are disposed within the gullets of the other. The tips optionally have a positive hook angle of up to 20 or more, to produce a smooth, flat-bottomed groove in a workpiece.
Machining center equipped with device for mounting on a clamp parts or profiles to be worked
A machining center equipped with a device for mounting on a clamp parts to be worked or which have been worked, such as profiles, which has a supporting frame for supporting a turntable with two or more stepped positions or placements or workstations, an loading basket and an unloading basket. The machining center comprises a robot configured to remove or to associate, with each one of said two or more stepped positions or placements or workstations, the parts or the profiles to be worked and which have been worked at a plurality of fixed RPS or reference points and mobile mechanical components, according to a single positioning that is adapted to allow access by machining devices to any zone in the space of the profiles to be worked by modifying only the condition that the two or more stepped positions or placements or workstations are in.
Automated hardwood texturing system and associated methods
A system and method for imparting a textured surface effect in a board. The system and method are configured to releasably secure a charge on a table; determine a random abrasion pattern for the charge with at least one programmable controller; and control at least one abrasion assembly with the at least one programmable controller in accord with the random abrasion pattern to selectively engage and remove desired portions of the upper surface of the charge with the at least one abrasion assembly to form a randomized textured surface effect thereon.
Crossclipping and bundling system and method for veneer packets
An apparatus for clipping ends of a book of sheets includes a first detector for detecting a first end of the book of sheets, a clipper positioning system and a first clipper including a knife. The clipper positioning system is adapted to automatically position the first clipper to a proposed first clipping position based on the detected first end of the book of sheets. A method of processing a plurality of sheets includes assembling the plurality of sheets into a book of sheets, detecting a first end of the book of sheets to propose a first position for clipping the book of sheets, positioning a first clipper based on the detected first end of the book of sheets, advancing the book of sheets to an infeed conveyor, detecting, the presence of the book of sheets in the infeed conveyor, advancing the book of sheets to the first clipper, clipping the first end of the book of sheets, and advancing the book of sheets from the first clipper.
Wood article and process for the preparation of the wood article
The present disclosure relates to a wood article and a process for preparing the wood article. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a wood article comprising a wood substrate comprising acidic substances and having at least one major surface; an adhesion promoting layer directly applied on the major surface of the wood substrate; and a Michael Addition curing coating applied on the adhesion promoting layer, wherein the adhesion promoting layer is formed by a composition comprising a functional silane comprising amino and/or imino functional groups; and wherein the Michael Addition curing coating is formed from a two-component curable coating composition.
Processing method for surface of workpiece using rotating cutting tool
A processing method for a surface of a workpiece using a rotating cutting tool, includes a processing method for forming a cut pattern by rotationally cutting a surface of a workpiece using a rotating cutting tool having cutting edges extending in a rotation axis direction at a plurality of circumferentially separated positions on an outer circumference of a body thereof. Each of the cutting edges includes a plurality of segmental edges segmented at an equal pitch in the rotation axis direction. A ratio of depth d to width W (d/W) of a knife mark formed on the surface of the workpiece by the segmental edges is not less than 3/100.
Flexible wood structures and devices, and methods for fabricating and use thereof
A flexible structure is formed by subjecting cellulose-based natural wood material to a chemical treatment that partially removes hemicellulose and lignin therefrom. The treated wood has a unique 3-D porous structure with numerous channels, excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility, and improved flexibility as compared to the natural wood. By further modifying the treated wood, the structure can be adapted to particular applications. For example, nanoparticles, nanowires, carbon nanotubes, or any other coating or material can be added to the treated wood to form a hybrid structure. In some embodiments, open lumina within the structure can be at least partially filled with a non-wood substance, such as a flexible polymer, or with entangled cellulose nanofibers. The unique architecture and superior properties of the flexible wood allow for its use in various applications, such as, but not limited to, structural materials, solar thermal devices, flexible electronics, tissue engineering, thermal management, and energy storage.
Method of fabricating a wooden perch
A method of fabricating a wooden perch which is affordable, has a reduced chance of infection or infestation, and provides increased comfort for animals. The method of fabricating a wooden perch generally includes the steps of providing a piece of wood and using a wood crafting assembly to create natural, randomized contours along the exterior of the piece of wood to complete the wooden perch. The piece of wood is rotated along its length across a wood crafting assembly in two opposite directions to create an interwoven sine-wave pattern along its length. Random parts of the wood are then applied to the wood crafting assembly at random angles with random pressure levels to create a natural contour along the length of the perch. Mounting hardware may be included to aid in securing the perch to various surfaces, such as an indoor bird cage or an outdoor bird feeder.
Apparatus for distressing material
An apparatus and method for distressing material, such as a board. The apparatus may include a cutter head supporting a blade, a guide member, and a flattening device. The flattening device and the guide member are positioned proximate the cutter head and on opposite sides thereof. In response to the cutter head and the surface of the material being brought into cutting contact and moved relative to each other, a resulting portion of the surface of the material is distressed. The flattening device maintains the proper vertical position of the cutter head and blade relative to the material and a material support as the material is being brought into cutting contact with the cutter head. The guide member levels warped material boards thereby bringing the board into proper elevation and engagement with the blade for cutting or scraping a top surface of the board. The material may be wood.
CLAMP FOR LIMITING CRACKS IN LOGS
Clamp for limiting cracks in logs, having two blades which each extend from a back surface to a cutting edge along a cutting direction and which are tapered in the cutting direction, the cutting directions of the two blades are aligned parallel to one another and wherein the two blades are connected by a first connecting bar which extends between first end regions of the two blades and by a second connecting bar which extends between second end regions of the two blades.
