A SLURRY SPREAD QUANTIFICATION SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR QUANTIFYING A SLURRY SPREAD
The application describes a slurry spread quantification system (200) comprising a forming table including a forming area and at least one slurry outlet (120) configured to, in use, dispense a slurry (130) into the forming area, a sensor (210) trained on the forming area and configured to capture an image of the forming area; and a processor (220) operable to: analyse the image to identify the slurry (130); determine at least one characteristic of the slurry (130); and output at least one indication of the at least one characteristic of the slurry (130). A method, a computer implemented method and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions, that when executed on a computing device cause the computing device to control a system (200) as described are also discussed.
Panel and Method for Producing a Panel
The invention relates to a panel and a method for producing a panel. The panel is in particular a floor, wall or ceiling panel, and comprises at least one core layer, the core layer comprising an upper core surface and a lower core surface and at least one pair of opposite side edges; wherein the core layer comprises magnesium oxide cement; wherein the core has a density which is substantially homogenous over its entire volume, and wherein at least one decorative top layer is attached to an upper core surface of the core layer.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ARCHITECTURAL BLOCKS WITH STONE-LIKE APPEARANCE
Apparatus, systems, and methods for applying plaster compositions to block substrates to yield a product having the appearance of cut stone. An example apparatus includes: a manifold; a mold connected to the manifold with a channel to receive the block substrate; a delivery hose connected to a top of the manifold to deliver plaster composition to the manifold for application to the block substrate; a pressure release hose connected to the manifold; and a vibrating mechanism connected to the mold. A system further includes a conveyor that moves block substrates through the mold. An example method includes: wetting a surface of a block substrate; moving the block substrate through an application apparatus as described, applying a layer of plaster composition to a surface of the block substrate, vibrating the mold and block substrate during application of the plaster composition, and allowing the plaster composition to harden.
Cementitious panels with polymeric-film facing material
Provided are cementitious panels that include a cementitious core material and a plurality of sheets of facing material surrounding the cementitious core material, in which at least one of the plurality of sheets of facing material includes a polymeric-film. The polymeric film may include a thermoplastic composition that has a polymeric matrix including one or more polymeric materials. Additionally, the thermoplastic composition may optionally include a filler material. Additionally, provided are methods of manufacturing such cementitious panels.
BAFFLED DONUT APPARATUS FOR USE IN SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMING GYPSUM BOARD
A system and method for introducing a slurry mixture for making gypsum board is disclosed. The system includes, for example, a mixer, a foam injector, and a canister for mixing and moving a slurry mixture of foam and gypsum slurry. Also included in the system is an apparatus having a funnel body constructed and arranged to further mix the slurry mixture. The funnel body includes a number of baffles projecting from its inner wall towards a center and that are spaced around the inner wall. The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for forming the gypsum board.
AEROGEL- AND/OR XEROGEL-BASED MASS FOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND USE THEREOF
A composition, in particular for use as a printable and/or extrudable mass, comprises or consists of: 10-99.99 vol. % of a high-porosity material, whereby the high-porosity material is an aerogel and/or a xerogel, 0.001-5.0 vol. % of an organic binding promoter and, optionally, balance to 100 vol. % of further components.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MOLDED COATING ON CMC
A method of forming a coating includes providing a mold that has a flexible wall that defines a mold cavity, inserting a component that is to be coated into the mold cavity, the component having a component surface roughness and there being a coating gap defined between the component and the flexible wall of the mold cavity, introducing a molding slurry into the mold cavity, the molding slurry filling the coating gap and contacting the component so as to overcoat the component surface roughness, solidifying the molding slurry to form a green coating on the component, and consolidating the green coating to form a final coating on the component, the final coating having a coating surface roughness that is less than the component surface roughness.
Adjustable post-to-substrate embed system
An adjustable railing post-to-substrate embed system for anchoring a railing post having a railing base with plural railing base anchor holes includes: a plate, having anchor holes; a plurality of nuts, a first end of each nut being arranged proximate a respective one of the anchor holes, the first end of each nut being configured to be selectively and removably threadingly engaged, via the respective anchor hole, with one selected from the group consisting of: respective upper protective bolts, and respective bolts of the railing base; and a plurality of anchors, each being configured to adjustably threadingly engage a second end of a respective one of the nuts, distal the respective anchor hole, each of the anchors being individually adjustable in length by threadable engagement with the second end of the respective one of the nuts.
The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for depositing onto paper to form the gypsum board.
Plasterboards and methods for making them
An example plasterboard includes a layer of hardened plaster material having a first surface and an opposed second surface and a layer of molded material having a surface that faces away from the layer of hardened plaster material. The surface of the layer of molded material has one or more raised features. The plasterboard also includes a liner between the first surface of the layer of hardened plaster material and the layer of molded material. Other examples include a method of forming such plasterboards and a method for installing such plasterboards.
