Method for recycling plastic materials
The invention relates to a method and to an assembly for recycling plastic materials, comprising the following processing steps: a) reprocessing the raw material, wherein the material, if necessary, is comminuted and brought into a fluid-like form and heated and permanently mixed, while preserving the lumpiness and pourability thereof, and optionally the viscosity thereof is increased and/or it is degassed, softened, dried and/or crystallized; b) melting the reprocessed material, at least so much that filtration is possible; c) filtering the melt in order to remove impurities; d) homogenizing the filtered melt; e) degassing the homogenized melt; and f) discharging and/or subsequently processing the melt, such as by granulation, blown film processing, with said processing steps being carried out consecutively in the order listed.
Device for suctioning off waste products from a production machine, comprising a suction element
The invention relates a device for suctioning off waste products of the production machine comprising a suction chamber at which at least a suction element is assembled which extends into a suction space, which is outside the suction chamber in order to convey waste products into the suction chamber, wherein the suction element comprises an inlet area, which is facing the suction space and an outlet area, which ends in the suction chamber.
OPTICAL FILM
An optical film including an olefin resin layer that contains a cyclic olefin polymer and an ester compound. The ratio of the ester compound in the olefin resin layer is 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight. An average light absorbance of the optical film in a wavelength range of 9 μm to 11 μm is 0.1% or more.
REVERSIBLE THERMOSETS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Provided herein is a method of recycling additively manufactured articles or recovered coating material that comprises a crosslinked polymer formed from a single-cure resin comprising a reactive blocked prepolymer, into a regenerated resin useful for additive manufacturing. Recyclable light-polymerizable resins, methods of making recyclable objects from such resins, and methods for sustainable manufacturing are also provided.
Self-Contained Recycling and Fabrication Appliance
A recycling and fabrication appliance is provided. The recycling and fabrication appliance is generally configured to convert solid waste, solid materials and/or solid objects into a usable or reusable product. The recycling and fabrication appliance generally comprises a single unit with one or more inputs and one or more outputs. The unit may be a cuboid, or may be any appropriate shape, and may specifically be configured to recycle or repurpose solid waste, solid materials or solid objects into a reusable form at or near the point of consumption or disposal, such as a household or office. The components of the recycling and fabrication appliance may be housed within the unit and may enable the recycling and fabrication appliance to receive various solid waste pieces as an input and to produce a single usable output, referred to herein as a output object.
ALDEHYDE CONTENT REDUCTION PROCESS AND RECYCLED POLYOLEFIN WITH LOW ALDEHYDE CONTENT
Disclosed is a process for treating plastic waste chips containing a blend of polypropylene and polyethylene in an amount of at least 83.0 wt.-% to less than 100 wt.-% and further containing C7 to C11 aldehydes in an amount of 8000 ppb to 20000 ppb limonene in an amount of 5 ppm to 500 ppm, the process comprising subjecting said plastic waste chips, in a fixed bed without stirring under standard pressure or reduced pressure, to a gas flow for achieving a Reynolds number in the range of 35 to 1200 at a temperature in the range of 20° C. to a point 10° C. below the Vicat softening point (10N, ISO 306) of said plastic waste and recovering the treated plastic waste chips containing C7 to C11 aldehydes in a total amount of 50 ppb to less than 5000 ppb limonene in an amount of 0.5 to 5 ppm.
APPARATUS FOR FORMING AN ARTICLE
An apparatus for forming a plastic article is disclosed, comprising at least one intake conveyor to receive a plurality of plastic material and transfer the plurality of plastic material to at least one shredder to shred the plurality of plastic material. At least one stage conveyor transfers plastic from the at least one shredder to at least one load conveyor to transfer shredded plastic to at least one weigh apparatus. At least one boiler system provides pressure and heat to at least one blocker cell to process the shredded plastic to a block or similar article. At least one offtake conveyor receives and expels the block.
Processes and structures for recycling carpet and products of such processes
Methods and equipment for the recycling of carpet are disclosed that produce a clean fiber product suitable for industrial use. The methods allow the recovery of face fiber material, for example a polyester, polyolefin, or a polyamide, from carpets that includes a face fiber material, a polypropylene backing material, and an adhesive, and include the steps of mechanically impacting the carpet to break the bonds between the adhesive and the fibrous components, treating the fibrous components to remove adhesive granules from the fibrous components, and optionally separating the polypropylene backing from the face fiber. A clean adhesive/calcium carbonate product can also be produced from this process.

COMPOSITE BOARD FROM PLASTIC WASTE
Plastic waste is shredded and formed to a desired shape and held together using a binder and/or heat, etc. The resulting composite material may be useful for building and/or furniture and/or flooring, etc. (similar to wood composite board). In some embodiments, the board is highly water resistant. Optionally, the board is made of layers. For example, an inner layer has reduced density and/or an outer layer may have decreased particle size and/or increased fiber content.
