An equine shoe assembly that is an equine shaped shoe cuff structure attached to an equine shoe, preferable a shoe that covers substantially all the underside of a hoof, the cuff being designed to hold the shoe in place on an equine hoof. Additionally the assembly can include an orthotic and/or a pulsing bladder that fits beneath the equine hoof on the inside top of the cuff assembly when the shoe/cuff assembly is employed.

A hoof soling element to be attached under the hoof of an animal, in particular a horse, wherein said hoof soling element (1) is of uniformly increasing height which enables an area of the soling element (1) that is of lesser height to be attached under the front portion of the hoof and an area of greater height under the rear portion of the hoof, wherein said hoof soling element (1) is composed of a material having a Shore-A hardness ranging between 60 and 90. Said hoof soling is particularly suited for the treatment of laminitis and enables the load acting on the foot to be shifted to the healthy rear hoof portion, wherein as a result of the hardness of the material a sufficient amount of elasticity on the one hand and resistance on the other is achieved.

A protective cover for an animal hoof is provided that includes a sheet having a first side, a second side, and an exterior edge surrounding an interior area of the sheet. The exterior edge includes a plurality of slits extending from the exterior edge to the interior area of the sheet, and flaps of the sheet between each of the plurality of slits. The first side has an adhesive material and the second side has a textured surface. The protective cover may be applied by providing the protective cover; removing the film from the adhesive material; applying the first side with the adhesive material to a center of a bottom of the animal hoof; folding the flaps of the sheet between each of the plurality of slits; and pressing the protective cover against the animal hoof toe, heel, and sidewalls.

A protective cover for an animal hoof is provided that includes a sheet having a first side, a second side, and an exterior edge surrounding an interior area of the sheet. The exterior edge includes a plurality of slits extending from the exterior edge to the interior area of the sheet, and flaps of the sheet between each of the plurality of slits. The first side has an adhesive material and the second side has a textured surface. The protective cover may be applied by providing the protective cover; removing the film from the adhesive material; applying the first side with the adhesive material to a center of a bottom of the animal hoof; folding the flaps of the sheet between each of the plurality of slits; and pressing the protective cover against the animal hoof toe, heel, and sidewalls.

Protective boots for protecting a portion of a leg of a horse, such as the shin or ankle, are provided which include a protective element suitable for surrounding at least partially the leg portion, and fastening elements suitable for connecting two opposite sides of the protective element so as to tightly secure the protective element to the leg portion. The fastening elements can include at least one strap having a proximal portion secured to one of the opposite sides and at least one distal portion, and at least one rigid attachment element integral to the other of the opposite sides. The straps can be made as a single body of elastic material.

Protective boots for protecting a portion of a leg of a horse, such as the shin or ankle, are provided which include a protective element suitable for surrounding at least partially the leg portion, and fastening elements suitable for connecting two opposite sides of the protective element so as to tightly secure the protective element to the leg portion. The fastening elements can include at least one strap having a proximal portion secured to one of the opposite sides and at least one distal portion, and at least one rigid attachment element integral to the other of the opposite sides. The straps can be made as a single body of elastic material.

A horseshoe having a front end and a back end includes a base plate having a first stiffness, an intermediate layer having a second stiffness, the second stiffness being less than the first stiffness, the intermediate plate being disposed adjacent the base plate, a top plate disposed adjacent the intermediate layer and a heel wedge capable of articulating relative to the base plate.

The present invention relates to a permanently stable hoof protector for equidae (e.g. horses, donkeys) as a combination product, comprising at least one hoof protector sole and a hoof protector lug system, for attachment to a hoof, in particular for therapeutic purposes. The hoof protector sole according to the invention for a hoof of an equid comprises at least one base plate made of a thermoplastic polymer (TP), wherein the TP has a hardness of at least 35 Shore(A) and the base plate comprises a top side and a bottom side, and wherein the bottom side of the base plate substantially reproduces the shape of the ground contact area of the hoof, whereby a hoof protector sole is provided which is light, chemically and mechanically resilient and shock-absorbing and thus adapted to the impulse forces of the horse's run. A quick, simple and non-invasive attachment and/or replacement of the hoof protector without the need for nailing to the hoof is solved in the method according to the invention for its attachment, wherein the invention comprises an economical method for manufacturing the combination product by means of thermoplastic master molding methods, in particular by means of injection molding methods.
