In the method for manufacturing conglomerate stone slabs using the Bretonstone technology, in the variant where the starting mixture is enclosed between two paper sheets, the improvement consists in replacing each paper sheet with a containment element consisting of a paper sheet, one surface of which has, applied thereon, a film of plastic material which is impermeable to organic vapours, impermeable to the liquids and in particular to the liquid resin constituting the binder of said mixture, resistant to the catalysis temperatures of the said resin and resistant to hot solvents and chemical vapours. Preferably, said plastic material is water-soluble, in particular polyvinyl alcohol.

Mould for producing a fibre composite component

A tool for producing a fiber composite component includes at least two tool portions which have partial cavities and which are moved together in a production position in such a manner that they form a cavity, in which cavity the fiber composite component is produced. Associated with at least a first tool portion there is a retention element which retains the fiber composite component produced in the first tool portion when the tool portions are moved apart after the production of the fiber composite component.

Process for manufacturing a fiber reinforced composite article, the composite article obtained and the use thereof

A process for the preparation of a fiber reinforced composite article that facilitates manufacturing of composite articles with reduced cycle times, said composite articles exhibiting high fibre content, low void content and excellent visual and mechanical properties, and capable of use for the construction of mass transportation vehicles, in particular, in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Vehicle trim component

A vehicle interior/trim component configured to support an airbag module is disclosed. The component may comprise a structural substrate with a reinforcement to provide a door/opening for airbag deployment. The reinforcement may comprise a pattern of threads (e.g. top stitch to secure the door and bottom stitch). The reinforcement may comprise threads sewn within and/or pressed into a surface of a substrate/panel. The top stitch thread weight may be greater than that of the bottom stitch. The top stitch may comprise a retaining thread/hinge; the bottom stitch may separate upon deployment. The reinforcement may comprise KEVLAR, aramid, nylon, polyester, thread, ceramic fibers, polymeric fibers, synthetic fibers, etc. The structural substrate may comprise a fiber panel, compression-formed component, generally rigid fiber mat, etc. The component may be formed by injecting resin into a mold to form an ancillary component of a composite structure.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTED INK DENSITY COMPENSATION
20230260196 · 2023-08-17 ·

Herein is disclosed a method for ink or coating density compensation by means of applying calculated additional ink/coating to the pre-decorated substrate or film, and by additionally, if needed, apply colour-correction to pre-decoration print files to compensate for higher-than-desired ink density colour shifts. The method includes the steps of providing a flat polymer web having a uniform grid pattern of grid markers printed thereon, and then thermally transforming the web to form a three-dimensional target grid. The target grid is then digitized and the change in the spacing of the grid markers is measured and recorded. The recorded transformed spacing for each grid marker is then used to modify the initial graphics file to compensate for ink-density irregularities resulting from the shrinking and stretching deformations of the substrate during thermal transformation.

Injected LED light assembly

A light assembly and method of forming light assemblies includes a flexible light layer, a thermoplastic housing, and an IMC layer. The flexible light layer has a flexible substrate, a printed circuit, and a plurality of LEDs extending outward from the flexible substrate. The IMC layer is formed opposite the flexible light layer from the thermoplastic housing and covers the LEDs. Forming may include placing the flexible light layer within a mold cavity, injecting the thermoplastic structure on one side of the flexible light layer, and injecting the IMC layer on the opposite side of the flexible light layer from the thermoplastic structure. Injecting the thermoplastic structure into the mold cavity may change the shape of the flexible light layer. Datum features of the flexible light layer may align the thermoplastic structure relative to the datum features.
