Polyolefin porous separator and preparation method thereof
A polyolefin porous separator includes a first surface and a second surface corresponding to the first surface. The surfaces of the polyolefin porous separator contain dendritic crystals and micropores, the dendritic crystals intersect with the micropores on the first surface or/and the second surface, and the dendritic crystals penetrate through the second surface from the first surface. A preparation method of the polyolefin porous separator includes: (1) a mixed melting of polyethylene resin and a mineral oil; (2) an extrusion of the mineral oil/polyethylene resin molten mixture; (3) a stretching of a thick sheet in a machine direction (MD); (4) a stretching of the separator in a transverse direction (TD); (5) immersing the separator into a solvent to extract the mineral oil; (6) a secondary stretching of the separator in the TD; and (7) subjecting the separator having the longitudinal crystals to a heat-setting treatment and then rolling up.
Nanovoided tunable birefringence
A form birefringent optical element includes a structured layer and a dielectric environment disposed over the structured layer. At least one of the structured layer and the dielectric environment includes a nanovoided polymer, the nanovoided polymer having a first refractive index in an unactuated state and a second refractive index different than the first refractive index in an actuated state. Actuation of the nanovoided polymer can be used to reversibly control the form birefringence of the optical element. Various other apparatuses, systems, materials, and methods are also disclosed.

Disclosed are a graphite sheet formed from a polyimide film having a molecular orientation ratio of at least about 1.25, and a method for producing the same.
Multilayer optical barrier
A liquid lens architecture includes a transparent substrate, a multilayer thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)-based membrane overlying at least a portion of the transparent substrate, and a liquid layer disposed between and abutting the transparent substrate and the multilayer thermoplastic polyurethane-based membrane. The TPU-based membrane may exhibit a reversible elastic response to imposed strains of up to approximately 2% and is configured to limit the transpiration of fluid to less than approximately 10.sup.−2 g/m.sup.2/day.

Oriented film comprising poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate)
An oriented film including poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) is produced in a process by preparing a sheet from a poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) resin by heat processing, which sheet has a thickness of at most 2.5 mm; allowing the sheet to cool; and stretching the cooled sheet in at least one direction with a stretch ratio of at least 4/1 at a temperature in the range of 90 to 130° C., yielding an oriented film. The oriented film has a thickness of 1 to 400 μm and a tensile strength at break of at least 100 MPa.
Conformable seamless three dimensional articles and methods therefor
Waterproof, breathable garments and methods of making are provided. The garments may include a laminate of a seamless ePTFE membrane and at least one textile. The garment is conformable over a range of sizes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of forming molds. The ePTFE membrane may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, a mold having a desired size to form a garment. Such a conformable ePTFE membrane may allow for forming multiple sizes of garments with various sizes and shapes of molds. In embodiments where the ePTFE membrane is seamless and continuous, the garment eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make garments waterproof.

Method for manufacturing wood sheets for lamps and thus obtained wood sheet
A method for producing a wood sheet that is between 0.6 and 0.8 mm thick, includes covering both surfaces with a matte crystal clear polyester film that is between 70 and 80 micrometres thick joined by thermopressing to the wood sheet. The wood sheet is sanded between the method steps to a thickness ranging from 0.6 to 0.8 mm, a matte polyester film with a thickness ranging from 70 to 80 micrometres is applied, they are then thermopressed at a controlled temperature and speed, and the wood sheet covered with the plastic material film is cold-pressed. The present invention also relates to a translucent wood sheet which allows illumination lamps having unique configurations to be produced.
Multilayered stretched polyamide film
