20170334105 · 2017-11-23 ·

A composite resin molded body includes a base compound resin and a molten-kneaded mixture which contains an organic fibrous filler, and a dispersing agent. In the composite resin molded body, a content of the organic fibrous filler is at least 5 mass % and at most 70 mass %, and a proportion T of the organic fibrous filler carbonized in the composite resin molded body is equal to or less than 0.1.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING AN ORIENTED FILM COMPRISING POLY(ETHYLENE-2,5-FURANDICARBOXYLATE)

An oriented film including poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) is produced in a process by preparing a sheet from a poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) resin by heat processing, which sheet has a thickness of at most 2.5 mm; allowing the sheet to cool; and stretching the cooled sheet in at least one direction with a stretch ratio of at least 4/1 at a temperature in the range of 90 to 130° C., yielding an oriented film. The oriented film has a thickness of 1 to 400 μm and a tensile strength at break of at least 100 MPa.

DRAWABILITY ENHANCEMENT IN POLYMER THIN FILMS

A method includes applying a stress to a polymer thin film to stretch the polymer thin film along a first in-plane direction, and subsequently applying a stress to the polymer thin film to stretch the polymer thin film along a second in-plane direction orthogonal to the first in-plane direction to form an ultra-high modulus polymer thin film. Calendaring or hot pressing of the ultra-high modulus polymer thin film may improve its optical and/or thermal properties.

Method and device for producing non-round wound tubes from plastic profiles

A method and a device for repairing portions of channels, including non-round channels, is provided by a wound tube wound from a profile strip by a winding machine, the abutting edges of which strip are formed into tight joints, locked inside the wound tube which can be introduced into the portion of the channel to be repaired. A plastic profile strip is drawn from a storage spool and fed to a winding machine arranged in front of one of the openings of the channel to be repaired, the winding machine having a guide rail adapted to the cross-portion of the channel, and adjacent edge regions fed onto this rotating winding former locked in an overlapping manner to form a wound pipe and the pipe is pushed or pulled into the channel portion.

CELLULAR CONFINEMENT SYSTEM AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A cellular confinement system includes PET sheets and honeycomb-shaped cells formed by intercrossing the PET sheets. A connecting hole is provided at a joint where the PET sheets are intercrossed. An injection molded fixing component for connecting the PET sheets is provided at the connecting hole. The injection molded fixing component includes an injection molded rod arranged in the connecting hole and fixing plates each arranged to be fixedly connected to a corresponding end of two ends of the injection molded rod. The fixing plates each fits against a side wall of a corresponding PET sheet. The injection molded fixing component includes the injection molded rod and the fixing piece. The injection molded rod is configured to connect the PET sheets at the joint where the PET sheets are intercrossed. The fixing plate is configured to prevent the PET sheets from being disengaged from the injection molded rod.

EASY PEEL SEALANT FILM
20170282514 · 2017-10-05 ·

An easy peel sealant film includes at least a support layer and a peel layer. The support layer has a composition which contains 100 to 70 mass % of a linear low-density polyethylene, and 0 to 30 mass % of a propylene homopolymer. The peel layer has a composition which contains 40 to 60 mass % of a low-density polyethylene, 10 to 20 mass % of a high-density polyethylene, and 20 to 50 mass % of a propylene homopolymer. The propylene homopolymer in the support layer and the propylene homopolymer in the peel layer have a melt flow rate of 1 g/10 min to 9 g/10 min.

MDO MULTILAYER FILM

A multilayer film having Machine Direction Orientation (MDO) is prepared by first co-extruding a multilayer film, then stretching the multilayer film in the machine direction at a temperature lower than the melting point of the polyethylene resin that is used to prepare the film. At least one layer of the film is a first polyethylene composition having a density of from about 0.94 to about 0.97 g/cc and at least one second layer is prepared from a polyethylene composition having a lower density than the first polyethylene composition. This disclosure enables the manufacture of films having outstanding barrier properties (low Water Vapor Transmission Rate, WVTR, and low Oxygen Transmission Rate, OTR) and good physical properties.

BOPP film having low shrinkage

The present invention relates to a new biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film, a process for the preparation of such film as well as the use of a polypropylene for the preparation of such film and an article comprising such film.

ORIENTED THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE DIELECTRIC FILM

An oriented film includes an orientated semi-aromatic polyester layer and a thermally conductive filler dispersed in the orientated semi-aromatic polyester layer. The thermally conductive filler is at least 20% wt. of the oriented film.

CONFORMABLE SEAMLESS THREE DIMENSIONAL ARTICLES AND METHODS THEREFOR

Waterproof, breathable garments and methods of making are provided. The garments may include a laminate of a seamless ePTFE membrane and at least one textile. The garment is conformable over a range of sizes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of forming molds. The ePTFE membrane may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, a mold having a desired size to form a garment. Such a conformable ePTFE membrane may allow for forming multiple sizes of garments with various sizes and shapes of molds. In embodiments where the ePTFE membrane is seamless and continuous, the garment eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make garments waterproof.
