Automated wrapping system

An automated wrapping system for wrapping a substrate with a material includes a support and a nest mounted to the support that is configured to position the material between an outer portion of the substrate and the nest. The automated wrapping system also includes a material folding assembly positioned adjacent to the nest configured for movement between a rest position and an actuated position, wherein the movement of the material folding system to the actuated position engages and folds the free end portion of the material over the edge of the substrate and onto a part of the inner portion of the substrate while retaining the material against the edge of the substrate. An actuator connected to the material folding assembly moves the material folding assembly between the rest position and the actuated position.

A machine can include a base including a first cradle. The first cradle can include a device slot being configured to securely hold a first electronic device. The machine also can include an alignment piece hingedly attached to the base at a hinge. The alignment piece can include an alignment base configured to engage with an alignment mechanism of an overlay applicator. The machine additionally can include a pulling piece movably attached to the base. The pulling piece can be configured to remove an adhesive release liner of the overlay applicator to expose an adhesive agent of an overlay of the overlay applicator when the alignment piece is rotated relative to the base around the hinge from a first alignment piece position to a second alignment piece position. Other embodiments are described.

Methods for fabricating medical devices and portions of medical devices
11433216 · 2022-09-06 · ·

Methods for making medical devices and portions of medical devices (e.g., intravascular catheters, catheter shafts, and tubular guiding members) are provided. Example methods may include providing a first ribbon comprising one or more thermoplastic materials and a piece of shrink tubing defining a shrink tube lumen and forming a first assembly by positioning the first ribbon inside the shrink tube lumen and urging the first ribbon to assume a tubular shape in which the first ribbon defines a ribbon lumen. A second assembly may be formed by loading an inner tubular member over a mandrel and forming or placing a support structure over an outer surface of the inner tubular member. A third assembly may be formed by inserting the second assembly into the ribbon lumen defined by the first ribbon of the first assembly. The third assembly may be heated to a process temperature.

Method of Installing a Heat Shrink Cover, Electrical Heating System, and Installation System

A method of installing a heat shrink cover around a component includes providing an electrical heating system having an electrical heating unit and an electronic control unit connected to the electrical heating unit. The method includes attaching the electrical heating unit to an outer surface of the heat shrink cover, arranging the heat shrink cover around the component, retrieving a set-up parameter of the heat-shrink cover and/or the component, generating a set-up value indicative of the set-up parameter, and energizing the electrical heating unit to provide heat for heat-recovering the heat shrink cover. The energizing step is performed in response to the set-up value.

Lastly, a number of methods for manufacturing such a pipe.

Irrigation sleeves for use with surgical systems

An irrigation sleeve, for use with a surgical system that comprises an irrigation source and a surgical tool having a tube to support a cutting accessory having a head, in turn comprises a body extending between proximal and distal ends. A first lumen formed in the body receives the tube. The head is adjacent the distal end. A second lumen formed in the body is spaced from the first lumen and comprises proximal and distal regions thereof. The proximal region of the second lumen extends from an inlet for fluid communication with the source, to a transition. The distal region of the second lumen is spaced out of fluid communication with the first lumen and extends from the transition to an outlet to direct fluid adjacent to the head.
