Methods and systems for forming curved composite charges for stringers
Described are methods and systems for manufacturing curved composite stringers. Such composite stringers may have in-plane and/or out-of-plane bends, which are formed while shaping composite charges. Specifically, a composite charge is shaped using a pallet, comprising a plurality of independent pallet portions, rotatably coupled to each other. A hat portion is formed when a part of this charge is conformed to a cavity in the pallet. The pallet portions are rotated relative to each other while forming the hat portion and/or when the hat portion already conforms to the cavity. In some examples, the die is bent together with the charge, when the pallet portions are rotated. This rotation produces one or more of in-plane and/or out-of-plane bends. In some examples, flange portions of the composite charge are positioned in a temporary orientation, e.g., to enable bending of the charge and reduce wrinkles.
Small piece supplying apparatus and fibrous body molding apparatus
A small piece supplying apparatus includes: a raw material supplying section that supplies a raw material sheet; a coarse crushing section that coarsely crushes the raw material sheet supplied from the raw material supplying section to produce small pieces; and a reservoir section in which the small pieces produced by the coarse crushing section are accumulated. The raw material supplying section includes a feeder roller that feeds out the raw material sheet, and a contact section that changes a course of the raw material sheet by contact with an edge of the raw material sheet fed out by the feeder roller.
Method for treating fibres, installation for treating fibres and thus obtained tape made of treated fibres
The invention relates to a method for treating fibres, to an installation for treating fibres and thus obtained tape made of treated fibres. The treatment method comprises the steps of continuously supplying a bundle of fibres (1), applying a first resin (51) to the bundle of fibres (1) by electrostatic deposition of particles of the first resin (51), bonding the particles of the first resin (51) to the bundle of fibres (1) by heating, and applying a surface coating to at least one side of the bundle of fibres (1) by depositing filaments of a second resin (91), such that the thus obtained tape made of fibres has a minimum resin load in relation to the fibre used.
Method for manufacturing resin sheet, resin sheet, method for manufacturing structural body, structural body, and airframe of aircraft
A method for manufacturing a resin sheet includes a coating step; a heating step; and a pressurizing step. In the coating step, linear metal nanomaterial is coated on a surface of a resin film having thermal plasticity. In the heating step, the resin film having the linear metal nanomaterial coated on the surface thereof is heated and softened. In the pressurizing step, the resin film having the linear metal nanomaterial coated on the surface thereof is pressurized to press the linear metal nanomaterial along a direction orthogonal to the surface on which the linear metal nanomaterial is coated. Thus, the coated linear metal nanomaterial penetrates the resin film to obtain the resin sheet containing the linear metal nanomaterial.
Tooling device and method for producing a planar structural component for an aircraft
A tooling device for producing a planar structural component for an aircraft has a moulding tool part with a contour surface for receiving a planar semi-finished product, a heating device for heating the semi-finished product, a film produced from an elastically deformable material and a clamping system with a first clamping device arranged on a first longitudinal side of the contour surface, and a second clamping device arranged on a second longitudinal side of the contour surface located opposite the first longitudinal side. The film is couplable to the clamping devices by the edge regions thereof and, when it is coupled to the clamping devices, covers the contour surface of the moulding tool part. The film is elastically deformable relative to the contour surface by the first and/or the second clamping device to press the semi-finished product in a planar manner against the contour surface for deforming purposes.

METHOD FOR PREPARING A DENSIFIED INSULATION MATERIAL FOR USE IN APPLIANCE INSULATED STRUCTURE
A method for forming a vacuum insulated structure using a prepared core material includes preparing a powder insulation material defining a bulk density, pre-densifying the powder insulation material to form a pre-densified insulation base, crushing the pre-densified insulation base into granular core insulation to define a core density of the granular core insulation, disposing the granular core insulation having the core density into an insulating cavity defined within an insulating structure and expressing gas from the interior cavity of the insulating structure to further densify the granular core insulation to define a target density. The granular core insulation defines the target density disposed within the insulating structure defines the vacuum insulation structure, wherein the target density defines a density in the range of from approximately 80 grams per liter to approximately 350 grams per liter.
Method and System for Forming a Composite Material
A method of forming a composite material includes mixing granules of thermoplastic(s) and granules of reinforcing material(s) using a mixer with an interior friction coating. The friction generated by interaction between the granules and friction coating causes granules of at least one of the thermoplastic(s) to be heated to a liquid or semi-liquid state. The liquid/semi-liquid thermoplastic(s) act a binder for the mixed material. A system for forming such a composite material includes such a mixer with an interior friction coating. The system may also include a mould and/or a press for forming material produced by the mixer into a finished shape. The method and system may use post-consumer and post-industrial material as an input allowing such material to be recycled. In some cases, cross-contaminated or mixed post-consumer/post-industrial material may be recycled, potentially reducing environmental impacts.
