Encapsulated plastic panel and method of making the same
An economical method of manufacturing a plastic glazing panel having an encapsulation for aesthetic purposes and to enhance the sealing of the glazing panel to the vehicle is presented. This method includes the steps of forming a plastic panel having an A-side and B-side; printing an opaque border from an ink with the border being in contact with the B-side of the panel and substantially encircling the perimeter of the panel; curing the ink of the opaque border; applying a weatherable layer on the printed border and the plastic panel; curing the weatherable layer; depositing an abrasion resistant layer on the weatherable layer; placing the plastic panel into a mold having a soft gasket; injecting an elastomeric material to form an encapsulation that substantially encircles the perimeter of the plastic panel and encompasses the A-side; B-side and edge of the plastic panel; and removing the plastic panel from the mold.
Apparatus and method for making a corrugated product
The invention describes a device and method for making corrugated products. The device can be used with any substrate and includes, at least, first and second drive rollers for driving a middle substrate and a single wall corrugated product. In other embodiments the invention includes upper drive rollers, lower drive rollers and middle drive rollers for driving an upper substrate, a lower substrate and a middle substrate. The middle substrate is driven between the upper and lower substrates at a higher velocity to form flutes that are anchored between the upper an lower substrates thereby forming a corrugated product. The invention also provides for customized corrugated products having multiple fluted substrates in various desirable arrangements. Examples of such products include mattress, partition panels, other furniture and construction products.
Method and apparatus for producing an electronic device
A method and apparatus for producing an electronic device are disclosed. An adhesive material is jetted in a first pattern on a surface of a receiver substrate. A carrier having a metal foil disposed thereon is brought into contact with the first substrate such that a portion of the metal foil contacts the adhesive material. The adhesive material is activated using at least one of mechanical pressure and heat while the portion of the metal foil is in contact with the adhesive material. The first substrate and the second substrate are separated, whereby the portion of the metal foil is transferred to the first substrate.

The thickness of a surface decoration layer is increased without significantly deteriorating the representation of the tone and the gradation of the color. A method for producing a three-dimensional object includes forming a surface decoration layer 11 using white material 15, at least one coloring material 13 other than white, and clear material 14, and using the at least one coloring material 13 and the clear material 14. The surface decoration layer 11 includes a plurality of layers formed by building a plurality of layer bodies one above the other. At least one of the layer bodies is formed with the white material 15 in at least one location among the lowermost layer of the surface decoration layer 11 and a region of an internal formation region 12 close to the surface decoration layer 11. The internal formation region constitutes an internal portion of the three-dimensional object. The plurality of layers constituting the surface decoration layer 11 includes the same color. When the plurality of layers are deposited, the density of the color visually recognized when the three-dimensional object is observed is adjusted to be greater than the density of the color of each of the plurality of layers.

A supper hydrophobic surface (e.g., autoclean surface) and methods of making such a surface. The method includes forming an open porosity on a surface of a product, the open porosity including pores having undercuts and attaching functional nano-particles to the surface, such that the functional nano-particles are located inside the open porosity. The open porosity is formed by various methods such as, for example, co-extruding or applying a polymeric material with a blowing agent and/or etching the surface and/or directly printing a porous layer on the surface.

A method for producing such panel including a step of subjecting a surface of a profile and/or cut edge to a thermal treatment to at least partially melt the WPC material in the region of the profile and seal the surface.
