Consumers of tobacco products or pharmaceuticals are known to carry such on their person in containers to protect the product in their pocket or purse and so that the product is available as needed. A container in which two containers are selectively coupled together is disclosed. In some embodiments, a first, larger container contains fresh product while the second, smaller container contains partially-consumed product. Or in some cases, the smaller container is used to hand off a small amount of the product (tobacco or the pharmaceutical) to another person, e.g., a caregiver attending to a patient. The approaches disclosed herein to couple the two containers include: snap fit, magnetic coupling, and a sliding groove/ridge fit.

Virtually seamless and shape-retaining bag with a flexible and soft material exterior

A virtually seamless, flexible, and shape-retaining bag and a method of manufacturing such a bag is disclosed. The bag is formed from two complimentary three-dimensional custom shaped halves of molded flexible foam. A single and continuous piece of material, fabric, or textile is bonded or otherwise joined over the exterior of each half. The entire outer material covering each half is free of seams, stitching, or other joining of two separate pieces material. The complimentary and exposed edges of the two halves are joined about a hinge and fastener, whereby opening the fastener allows the two halves to separate about the hinge, and closing the fastener secures the first half to the complimentary second half of the bag.

Renewably-Sourced Biodegradable Polyolefin Packaging
20210095098 · 2021-04-01 ·

Renewably-sourced biodegradable polyolefin packaging includes a renewably-sourced polyolefin (for example, polyethylene and polypropylene) and a biodegrading agent. The renewably-sourced biodegradable polyolefin packaging is made from plant materials typically by polymerizing olefins that are made from reducing alcohols created by fermenting plant materials. An example of a suitable plant material is sugarcane and its derivatives. The biodegrading agent accelerates the biodegradation of polyolefin packaging even in anaerobic and dark (i.e. absent of ultraviolet light) environments. Such a packaging is particularly useful for packaging frozen food that is to be microwaved in the packaging. The package is also particularly usable as packaging for frozen comestibles, which are often stored at dry-ice temperatures. Ultimately, the renewably-sourced biodegradable polyolefin packaging provides a start-to-finish green packaging that meets the requirements of being renewably sourced, biodegradable in landfills, and having similar performance as traditional polyolefin packaging.

Method for producing a marked container comprising a step for marking a preform
10913197 · 2021-02-09 · ·

A method for producing a marked container (12), includes the following steps: a first step (E1) of heating, beyond a glass transition temperature, at least one shape-changing portion of the thermoplastic material wall (17) of a preform (14); and a second step (E2) of forming the container by injecting a pressurized fluid into the body (16) of the preform (14) such as to change the shape of the heated portion of the wall (17) by stretching it; and a step (E0) for marking the preform (14), during which a mark (39) is provided on the shape-changing portion of the wall (17) such that the mark (39) is stretched at the same time as the wall (17), during step (E2) after forming.

Three-dimensional printing utilizing a captive element

A method of forming a printed structure is disclosed. The method may include printing layers of a printed structure and incorporating an element within the printed structure. The element may be removed in order to form tunnels within the printed structure. In some embodiments the element may be removed and reused in the formation of additional printed structures. The element may also be retained to form a composite printed structure.

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF A CONFORMABLE PRESSURE VESSEL
20210041064 · 2021-02-11 ·

A method of manufacturing a high-pressure fluid vessel includes forming a first portion of a high-pressure fluid vessel with a molding process. The high-pressure fluid vessel includes a stack of capsules. Each capsule includes a first domed end, a second domed end, and a semicylindrical portion extending between and connecting the first domed end to the second domed end. The method further includes forming a second portion of a high-pressure fluid vessel with the molding process. The second portion of the high-pressure fluid vessel is positioned adjacent to the first portion of the high-pressure fluid vessel. The second portion of the high-pressure fluid vessel is welded to the first portion of the high-pressure fluid vessel.

A wide-neck synthetic resin container has a neck, a body and a bottom. A top side of the neck is sealed by a cap. The neck includes a neck tubular section, an engagement section protruding outward therefrom and engaging the cap, and a flange protruding outward at the top side. The flange protrudes less than the engagement section. The neck's top side includes a first top side formed by the neck tubular section, and a second top side formed by the flange that is the same height level with the first top side and increases an area of the top side. The neck tubular section has a uniform thickness at an area immediately below the flange and an area where the engagement section is formed. A thickness of the flange is smaller than that of the neck tubular section, and the neck has been crystallized.
