Alternative Subprocess for Taping Wrapped Silicon Hoses and Hose Manufactured Thereby

A hose includes an outer cover layer and at least one ply disposed inward from the outer cover layer, characterized in that the outer cover layer is a shrink sleeve, and where the at least one ply is formed from a reinforced silicone rubber sheet which includes a reinforcement. The hose may further include an inner layer disposed within the at least one ply, and which defines a lumen. The shrink sleeve may be a polyolefin shrink sleeve. The layers are tensioned together with the shrink sleeve. The hose may be prepared by a shrink tension method without the use of a tape wrap. A method of preparing the above hose may include wrapping the inner layer around a mandrel, wrapping the at least one at least one ply around the inner layer, pulling the shrink sleeve over the at least one at least one ply, and vulcanizing the hose.

Catheter shaft and method of its manufacture

A method of manufacturing a catheter shaft includes the steps of forming an inner layer of a first polymeric material, forming a plait matrix layer including a second polymeric material about the inner layer, and forming an outer layer of a third polymeric material about the plait matrix layer. The plait matrix layer includes a braided wire mesh partially or fully embedded within the second polymeric material, which is different from at least one of the first polymeric material forming the inner layer and the third polymeric material forming the outer layer. The second polymeric material has a higher yield strain and/or a lower hardness than at least the first polymeric material, and preferably both the first and the third polymeric materials. The first polymeric material and the third polymeric material may be different or the same. The catheter shaft may be formed by stepwise extrusion, co-extrusion, and/or reflow processes.

Pipe forming method

A method for forming a composite fluid conduit includes providing an inner pipe having a variation in cross-section between at least two different longitudinal sections thereof and applying a fiber reinforced composite material to the inner pipe. In some disclosed examples the variation in cross section may be provided intermediate opposing ends of the inner pipe. In other disclosed examples the variation in cross section may be provided at an end region of the inner pipe.

ENHANCED CLASSROOM APPLICATIONS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS USING SENSOR RELAYS INCLUDING SOLAR AND VIRTUAL EMBODIMENTS

The present disclosure contains embodiments of an apparatus, system and method designed to facilitate learning or efficient multitasking involving movement and solar energy where users' movement devices process or respond to different stimuli to facilitate users moving while learning, working, or participating in a simulation. In some embodiments this may be accomplished with the aid of a circular treadmill, spherical walkway, or combinable modular trackpads that may be linked to allow a user to lay the apparatus in a path suited for a plurality of environments. The embodiments of the disclosure involve the user moving while processing information and receiving feedback, assistance related to that movement, processing, or any combination thereof while combining the motion of the movement device with the feedback loop sent from sensor relays a user may receive an optimal experience for learning while moving. Some embodiments make efficient use of solar energy for classroom education management.

THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE

A method of making a flexible pipe layer, which method comprises: commingling polymer filaments and carbon fibre filaments to form an intimate mixture, forming yarns of the commingled filaments, forming the yarns into a tape, and applying the tape to a pipe body to form a flexible pipe layer.

COIL CATHETER METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

A catheter device and manufacturing process for manufacturing the catheter device, wherein the catheter device has a halo-shaped coiled portion extending away from a perpendicular stem portion through a swan neck portion. Eyelets on the halo coil portion and swan neck portion facilitate flow out of the bladder through the catheter device vertical to the catheter, rather than perpendicularly as is the case with existing catheters. The catheter device is formed by using a straight catheter tube, heating and cooling it within a formed mold to have the halo coil and swan neck, such that it can be straightened using a pusher and stylet, inserted into the body while straightened, and thereafter return to its coiled shape when the stylet is removed.
