An apparatus for installing a sensor into a tire is provided that has a housing with a housing base that defines a housing base opening with an axis. A first finger extends from the housing base so as to extend both away from the housing base in the axial direction and towards the axis upon initial extension from the housing base and is located towards the axis without external force applied to the first finger. The housing also has a second finger that extends from the housing base. Also included is a push rod with a push rod base and a rod that extends from the push rod base. The rod has an operative end configured for engagement with the sensor. The rod is configured for moving through the housing base opening such that the operative end is configured for moving through the housing base opening.
CHEMICALLY TREATED, RFID EQUIPPED MESH TIRE LABELS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME FOR IDENTIFICATION AND TRACKING PURPOSES DURING AND POST-TIRE MANUFACTURE
A chemically treated, RFID equipped mesh tire label configured to be integrally incorporated within a vulcanized tire and to provide unique identifier(s) and/or other information about the vulcanized tire during and post tire vulcanization, the label comprising: a mesh face layer configured to be adhered to an outer surface of an unvulcanized tire; a mesh backing layer attached to the mesh face layer and adapted to be integrally incorporated in a vulcanized tire after subjecting a green tire to a vulcanization process; and an RFID device affixed between the mesh face and mesh backing layers, the RFID device that is configured to provide unique identifier(s) and/or other information upon being read with an RFID reader during and post tire vulcanization.

A tire curing apparatus having two guide rods, a mold having an upper mold and a lower mold, an upper plate, a lower plate, and an upper-mold raising/lowering device. Two clamp grooves (a first clamp groove and a second clamp groove) are formed on a path along which the upper plate moves on an outer peripheral surface of the guide rod. The upper plate has a clamping device. The clamping device is formed of a clamp block and fixes the upper plate by being fitted to the first or second clamp groove.

An electronic unit suitable for being positioned on an internal face of a tread of a tire with a view to measuring operating parameters of a vehicle wheel equipped with the tire. The electronic unit includes: a body, configured to be embedded into the thickness of the tire, in a housing provided for this purpose, and includes sensors dedicated to measuring operating parameters of the wheel, a head, arranged at one end of the body, including a circuit board for managing information output from the sensors of the body and a way of communicating with a central unit installed in the vehicle; a way for connecting the elements with which the body is equipped and the elements with which the head is equipped; and a way to supply the electronic unit with power.

Process and apparatus for handling green tyres for bicycles
A green tyre (2) for bicycles is built, comprising at least one carcass ply (4) having axially opposite end flaps (4a) engaged with respective bead cores (5) and a tread band (6) applied in a radially outer position around said at least one carcass ply (4). The green tyre (2) removed from the building drum, is profiled so as to translate the tread band (6) in a radially outer direction with respect to the bead cores (5), so as to impart a cross-sectional convex profile to the tyre (2) in a radially outer direction. The profiled tyre is engaged by means of a transfer member (31) while the tyre itself is mechanically restrained so as to maintain at least partly said cross-sectional convex profile in the radially outer direction.

Disclosed is a preparation and fixation installation (100) for fixation of a fastening device (10) to an inner surface (50a) of a tire casing (50), the fastening device allowing mounting of a corresponding electronic component therein. The system includes a positioning device (200) and an affixing device (300) . The affixing device includes a robot (302) having a gripping device (304) and a gripper (308) disposed along a longitudinal axis l-l at a free end (304a) of the gripping device. The gripper includes a housing (320) with a fixed housing (328) and a sliding housing (330), and a docking finger (324) having a longitudinal axis in common with the longitudinal axis of the gripper, such that reciprocating movement of the finger effects engagement of a center (C) of the fastening device (10) that is aligned along the longitudinal axis of the finger when a vacuum is applied.

A plant (2) for building tyres comprises a system for managing initial components (3); a system for managing the manufacturing of semi-finished products (4) starting from one or more initial components; a system for managing the building of a green tyre (5) starting from one or more semi-finished products; a system for managing the curing of said green tyre (6). The logical set of a control unit (8) for the plant (2) and/or of one or more from among control units (8a-8e) for the management systems (3-6) and/or of a automatic visual control system (7) is programmed for controlling at least two parameters, assigning to each of these a quality index (I), discarding a tyre being processed when a quality index (I) corresponding to said discard level (5) is assigned to at least one of said parameters and feedbacking the control result of at least one parameter in order to verify the quality index (I) of the parameters.
