Acid resistant capsules
The present invention relates to new acid resistant hard pharmaceutical capsules, a process for their manufacture and use of such capsules particularly but not exclusively for oral administration of pharmaceuticals, veterinary products, food and dietary supplements to humans or animals. The capsules of the invention are obtained by aqueous compositions comprising a water soluble film forming polymer and gellan gum in a mutual weight ratio of 4 to 15 weight parts of gellan gum for 100 weight parts of film forming polymer.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COATING PRODUCTS AND COATED PRODUCTS
Method for coating a product having a wall formed by at least a portion having at least partly a cell structure, preferably at least partly an open cell structure, wherein a foil or foil laminate is pressure formed over at least a part of at least one side of said wall, said foil or at least one layer of said laminate forming a coating of said part of the wall.
Emulsion coagulant and tire puncture repair kit
An object of the present invention is to provide an emulsion coagulant having excellent coagulation performance and a tire puncture repair kit that uses the emulsion coagulant. The emulsion coagulant of the present invention is an emulsion coagulant containing an -starch and an anionic polyacrylamide; a molecular weight of the anionic polyacrylamide being from 500,000 to 2,000,000; and a mass ratio (WA:WB) of a content (WA) of the -starch to a content (WB) of the anionic polyacrylamide being from 5:95 to 80:20.
CANNABIS TABLET OR CAPSULE
An orally dissolvable cannabis tablet includes one or more active cannabis-based chemical constituents and one or more inactive constituents. The active cannabis-based chemical constituents includes at least one of cannabinoids or terpenoids.
Melt-Processable Polyvinyl Alcohol Composition, Method for Producing and Use Thereof
The present invention provides a polyvinyl alcohol composition comprising polyvinyl alcohol, plasticizer, and one or more components selected from the group consisting of biodegradable polymer, compatibilizer, surfactant, antioxidant, and properties modifier. The polyvinyl alcohol composition of the present application is melt-processable, biodegradable and water-soluble. The present invention also relates to the method for producing the polyvinyl alcohol composition, and the use of the same.
BIODEGRADABLE DISPOSABLE ARTICLES
The present invention relates to a biodegradable disposable article comprising: unmodified and naturally occurring food waste comprising cellulose or hemicellulose in the range of about 5 wt % to about 70 wt %, less than about 80 wt % carbohydrate and at least about 2 wt % of lignin; wherein the food waste is optionally dehydrated and/or optionally agitated to form particulate solid material before being moulded under pressure of at least 5000 kg/cm.sup.2 and at a temperature of at least 150 C.
Super biodegradable straws and method for making the same
The present invention relates to drinking straws that are made from biodegradable material or bioplastics. The process to manufacture the present invention can use waste lipid wax byproducts. The present invention can incorporate chemical modification of corn or hemp fiber waste, and is comprised of wax byproduct, xanthan gum, carnauba wax and stearic acid. Stearin, hardener and plasticizers are mixed with corn or soy wax. A binder ingredient can be added to the waxes and fiber mixture, resulting in a smooth and hard, durable and biodegradable material with a high melting point. This material is then processed using an extrusion method, whereby the mixed ingredients are forced through an opening in a perforated plate or die with a design specific to form a straw, and then cut into a specific size by blades. The extruder consists of a large, rotating screw tightly fitting within a stationary barrel, at the end of which is the die. Extrusion enables mass production of food via a continuous, efficient system that ensures uniformity of the final product.
Process for producing biopolymer nanoparticles
A process for producing a biopolymer nanoparticles product is disclosed. In this process, biopolymer feedstock and a plasticizer are fed to a feed zone of an extruder having a screw configuration in which the feedstock is process using shear forces in the extruder, and a crosslinking agent is added to the extruder downstream of the feed zone. The biopolymer feedstock and plasticizer are preferably added separately to the feed zone. The screw configuration may include two or more steam seal sections. Shear forces in a first section of the extruder may be greater than shear forces in an adjacent second section of the extruder downstream of the first section. In a post reaction section located after a point in which the crosslinking reaction has been completed, water may be added to improve die performance.
Composite materials
A composite material is formed by combining an expandable polymer having a charge with another polymer having an opposite charge to produce. In particular, the composite material can be prepared by combining the polymers with a medium such as and water, and expanding the mixture using a treatment that expands the mixture to produce, for example, insoluble porous foam-like composite
