Hinging product and apparatus and method for forming a hinging product
Product made using a mass that includes natural polymers, wherein the product has at least a first product part connected by a hinge construction to a second product part, wherein the hinge construction has at least one flexible sheet element and at least one bridge portion made of the mass that includes natural polymers, wherein the hinge construction is designed such that, prior to a first time hinging, the at least one bridge portion forms a more rigid connection between the first and second product parts than the flexible sheet element and by hinging the bridge portion is severed, such that the first and second parts are substantially only connected by the at least one flexible sheet element.
Biodegradable and Industrially Compostable Injection Molded Microcellular Flexible Foams, and a Method of Manufacturing the Same
A process for injection molded microcellular foaming various flexible foam compositions from biodegradable and industrially compostable bio-derived thermoplastic resins for use in, for example, footwear components, seating components, protective gear components, and watersport accessories wherein a process of manufacturing includes the steps of: producing a suitable thermoplastic biopolymer or biopolymer blend; injection molding the thermoplastic biopolymer or biopolymer blend into a suitable mold shape with inert nitrogen gas; controlling the polymer melt, pressure, temperature, and time such that a desirable flexible foam is formed; and utilizing gas counterpressure in the injection molding process to ensure the optimal foam structure with the least amount of cosmetic defects and little to no plastic skin on the outside of the foamed structure.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TRANSDERMAL ABSORPTION SHEET
Provided is a method for manufacturing a transdermal absorption sheet which makes it possible to manufacture a transdermal absorption sheet with a stable shape. The method for manufacturing a transdermal absorption sheet includes a step of forming a drug layer (110) on needle-like recess portions (42) of a mold (50) having the needle-like recess portions (42), a step of supplying a polymer layer forming solution (112) to the inside of a step portion (52) of the mold (50), a step of drying the polymer layer forming solution (112) so as to form a polymer layer (114) and a transdermal absorption sheet (120), and a step of peeling off the transdermal absorption sheet (120) from the mold (50). In the step of peeling off, pressing force is applied to a part of the step portion (52) in a second direction (B) opposite to a first direction (A) in which the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is released from the mold (50), and the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is aspirated with a vacuum suction pad (160) from a side opposite to the mold (50) so that the transdermal absorption sheet (120) is peeled off from the mold (50) in the first direction (A).
Process of Making A Gluten-based Biodegradable Material
The present invention is directed to a fully biodegradable material based on a plant protein. The present invention is also directed to a process method of making a gluten-based biodegradable material by a water induced flocculation step. A fully hydrated gluten dough with or without an additive or/and a filler formed from the flocculation step, which has low viscoelasticity, is further molded into an article with desired shapes under a low shear stress in a relatively low temperature range. A rigid or flexible biodegradable plastic article is obtained by removing extra water at a temperature lower than decomposition temperature of the gluten.
Multilayer Films
There is provided a multilayer film comprising a starch layer and at least one other layer. The multilayer film has excellent barrier properties. The starch layer comprises a modified starch having a degree of substitution less than 1.5. Suitable other layers include polyolefins. The multilayer film finds use in packaging, particularly in packaging foodstuffs.
Fiber products having temperature control additives
A fiber product is described which includes fibers, a binder and a temperature control additive. The fiber product has properties that make it useful for a variety of applications. The fibers may be glass fibers and the product may be a fiberglass insulation product for use in buildings, vehicles, or other structures for acoustic and/or thermal insulation. The fibers may be cellulosic fibers and the product may be a wood board product. The temperature control additive is incorporated into the uncured fiber product to prevent deleterious self-heating during or after binder curing. The temperature control additive undergoes an endothermic process that consumes at least a portion of the energy generated during the exothermic curing reaction.
Microtextured films with improved tactile impression and/or reduced noise perception
A film layer having a micro-textured surface is provided. The film layer has a continuous phase with one or more thermoplastic polymers, wherein at least one of the thermoplastic polymers is a low-modulus polymer having a 2% secant modulus of less than or equal to 140 MPa, and the film has from 10 wt % to 100 wt % of the low modulus thermoplastic polymer. The film layer also has a discrete phase with from 5 wt % to 45 wt % of a thermoplastic starch.
BIODEGRADABLE MATERIALS FOR USE IN PACKING, STORAGE AND SHIPMENT
The invention(s) disclosed herein relate to improved methods and materials for manufacturing biodegradable, compostable filler materials for packing, shipping and storage. The filler materials disclosed herein are made of all-natural elements and may be manufactured from readily available food-waste or other plant-based waste materials. These materials are also rapidly decomposable and have a reduced environmental impact compared to other known packing materials.
A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CELLULOSE PRODUCT
A method for producing a cellulose product from a multi-layer cellulose blank structure, wherein the method comprises the steps; forming the multi-layer cellulose blank structure from at least a first layer of dry-formed cellulose fibres and a second layer of a cellulose fibre web structure, through arranging the at least first layer and second layer in a superimposed relationship to each other and in the superimposed relationship arranging the at least first layer and second layer in contact with each other; arranging the multi-layer cellulose blank structure in a forming mould; heating the multi-layer cellulose blank structure to a forming temperature in the range of 100 C. to 300 C., and forming the cellulose product from the multi-layer cellulose blank structure in the forming mould, by pressing the heated multi-layer cellulose blank structure with an isostatic forming pressure of at least 1 MPa, preferably 4-20 MPa, wherein the multi-layer cellulose blank structure is shaped into a two-dimensional or three-dimensional fibre composite structure having a single-layer configuration.
