Apparatus and Method for Making Inflated Articles
A sealing device generally includes a rotatable support cylinder having an outer, circumferential surface and a heating element disposed about such surface and secured thereto such that the heating element rotates therewith. The heating element is coiled about the outer surface of the cylinder in the form of an overlapping helical pattern. Juxtaposed film plies may be sealed together by bringing the sealing device into rotational contact with the juxtaposed film plies and heating the heating element to a temperature sufficient to cause the film plies to seal together.
METHOD FOR FABRICATING PIXELATED SCINTILLATORS
In a method of making pixelated scintillators, an amorphous scintillator material in a molten state is pressed into a plurality of cavities defined by a plurality of walls of a mesh array. The molten scintillator material in the plurality of cavities is cooled to form a pixelated scintillator array. An x-ray imager including a pixelated scintillator is also described.
THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME, AND MOLDED ARTICLE MANUFACTURED USING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic resin composition, a method of preparing the same, and a molded article manufactured using the same. The thermoplastic resin composition includes graft copolymer (A) including a polymer seed including 51 to 77 % by weight of an alkyl (meth)acrylate and 23 to 49% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound, a rubber core surrounding the polymer seed and including 78 to 90% by weight of an alkyl acrylate and 10 to 22% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound, and a graft shell surrounding the rubber core and including 65 to 80% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound, 14 to 25% by weight of a vinyl cyanide compound, and 3 to 15% by weight of an alkyl acrylate; and a non-graft copolymer (B) including an alkyl (meth)acrylate, an alkyl-substituted styrene-based compound, and a vinyl cyanide compound.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PRODUCT COMPRISING A DECORATIVE SURFACE LAYER
A method is provided for manufacturing a product having a three dimensional surface layer. The method may involve applying a water based resin on an underlying surface of the product. The water based resin may be at least in part thermocurable. A UV-curable liquid may be provided onto at least one portion of the water based resin, when the water based resin is liquid or partially cured. The water based resin may be cured at least by heating. The UV-curable liquid may be optionally UV cured. The UV-curable liquid may be optionally removed. The surface layer and the underlaying surface may be optionally pressed together by a pressing device.

Shaped Articles Having Peelable, Perforated Surfaces and Their Use for Segregating Particulate Materials, Such as in Animal Litter Trays
The disclosure relates to containers and other shaped articles that have a relatively thick substrate layer and one or more relatively thin liner sheets peelably adhered thereto. Animal litter can be placed atop the liner sheets, preferably in a concave portion to contain the litter. The liner sheets have perforations extending therethrough that permit the passage of non-soiled litter, but do not permit the passage of at least one of animal feces and soiled animal litter, such as clumps of litter and urine. After an animal has deposited waste on or in the litter, the liner sheet can be peeled from the container and waste unable to pass through the perforations can be collected.
Peelable seals including porous inserts
Peelable seals including porous inserts are described. An example peelable seal includes a porous insert positioned between a first sheet and a second sheet. The porous insert includes a plurality of interwoven strands and a plurality of pores adjacent the interwoven strands through which a bond is formed between the first sheet and the second sheet when heat is applied to at least one of the first sheet, the second sheet or the porous insert.
Multilayer heat shrinkable film comprising styrene polymer or a blend of styrene polymers
The present invention provides a multilayer heat shrinkable film incorporating an oxygen barrier material and layer containing a styrene polymer or blend of styrene polymers, where the shrinkage of the film in at least one of MD, TD is at least 30% at 90 C. The invention is further directed to a method of manufacturing a bag from said multilayer heat shrinkable film.
Methods and systems from recycling carpet and carpets manufactured from recycled material
The present invention pertains to carpet and methods of making and recycling carpet. In one aspect, the carpet includes: a primary backing which has a face and a back surface; a plurality of fibers attached to the primary backing and extending from the face of the primary backing and exposed at the back surface of the primary backing; an adhesive composition backing; and an optional secondary backing adjacent to the adhesive backing. The method of making carpet includes extrusion coating the adhesive composition onto the back surface of a primary backing to form the adhesive composition backing. The method of recycling carpet can recover one or more polymeric carpet components.
