An ant bait stake is provided having two components including an outer housing and an inner bait pack or reservoir that is separate from the outer housing. The outer housing includes a bait pack compartment for receiving the bait pack, and a ground engaging member such as a stake. A break-away tab including a neck portion with a bait access channel therein extends outwardly of the housing, the tab being removable by the consumer without any tools or other devices to open the bait access channel when the ant bait stake is ready for use.

Flying insect attraction station

A flying insect station for attracting and killing insects on the exterior and interior of a structure is disclosed. The flying insect station includes features for attracting and killing files within a shortened window of time, preferably within one hour. The station includes in one aspect a surface being substantially dark in color and substantially reflective in nature to provide a facade of an opening. Suppression means such as a pesticide is included on one or more of the surfaces of the station for killing flying insects staging on the surface(s). An attractant may be used to provide a plume of attractant around surfaces of the housing to attract and lure flying insects to stage about a reflective surface. Increased catch rates for insect suppression devices are realized when used in combination with embodiments of the station.

Task-specific ride-height control of an agricultural product applicator with air strut suspension

A system, apparatus and method for providing task-specific ride-height control in a self-propelled agricultural product applicator utilize a controllable ride-height trailing arm suspension system for independently joining each wheel to a frame of the applicator. Each trailing arm suspension system includes upper and lower suspension arms, an extensible air strut, and an angular position sensor operatively interconnected to one another and disposed between a rolling axis of the ground engaging wheel independently supported by that suspension system and a point of attachment of the suspension system to the frame, such that the position sensor detects a relative angular position between the upper and lower suspension arms at a present extension of the air strut. An electronic control unit utilizes the angular positions detected by the sensors, in conjunction with a desired task input, to control the air struts in a manner providing a ride-height corresponding to the desired task input.

Candle dispenser

Devices for dispensing an air treatment chemical such as insect repellent are disclosed. There is a chimney housing having a side wall defining an internal cavity. There is also a caddy assembly supported by the housing and having an upper caddy frame configured to mount a substrate bearing an air treatment chemical adjacent an upper portion of the housing, and a candle holder coupled to the upper caddy frame and configured to support a candle having a wick adjacent a lower portion of the housing. There is also a substrate bearing air treatment chemical suitable to be supported by the upper caddy frame, and a candle suitable to be supported by the candle holder. A refill kit for such devices is also disclosed. Also disclosed is an embodiment with a sand core bearing the repellent, a heat deflector positioned under the sand core, and a candle positioned under the heat deflector.

Methods and apparatus for surveillance and control of insect vectors

Improved devices for the capture, detection, or quantification of insect vectors such as gravid female insects, are provided. The devices include surface coloration, design, and dimension that improved their ability to attract and/or capture target insect vectors. The traps are used in process for detection or control of insect vectors in indoor and outdoor environments.
