COMPOSITE PRODUCTS AND THE MANUFACTURE THEREOF
The present invention relates generally to composite products, in particular glass-based composite products, and the manufacture thereof.
Positioning profiles for pultrusions in wind blade spar caps
Provided herein is a spar cap having a profile for guiding and receiving a shear web for wind turbine blade. Particularly, the present disclosure provides a pultruded spar cap having a bond gap feature to maintain a uniform space for distribution of bonding paste between the spar cap and shear web. Also, the spar cap is formed with locating features which guide and receive placement of the shear web.

COMPOSITE PARTS WITH IMPROVED MODULUS
A high modulus composite part is disclosed comprising a polymer resin; and a plurality of high-performance unidirectional glass fibers. The high-performance unidirectional glass fibers have an elastic modulus of at least 89 GPa and a tensile strength of at least 4,000 MPa, according to ASTM D2343-09. The composite part comprises a fiber weight fraction (FWF) of no more than 88% and an elastic modulus of at least 60 GPa, according to ASTM D7205.
TREATMENT OF A FIBRE REINFORCED COMPOSITE ELEMENT
The disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a fibre reinforced composite, wherein the surface of the fibre reinforced composite modified by using a laser radiation. In particular, the pre-treatment is performed before a bonding process. Time-consuming and dust generating grinding of the surface can be avoided.

Method for producing a component by way of stereolithography
The invention relates to a method for producing a component (9) by means of stereolithography, having the steps of: A) generating a component (9) in accordance with a virtual 3D model of the component (9) by curing a liquid plastic (7) using stereolithography, and B) cleaning the component (9) through at least one rotational movement of the component (9) about an axis of rotation or about multiple axes of rotation, wherein residues of the liquid plastic (7) are removed from the surface of the component (9) by a centrifugal force resulting from the rotational movement. The invention also relates to a 3D printing system for implementing such a method.
Composite Structure and Method for Inspecting a Pre-Bond Surface of a Composite Structure
A method for preparing a pre-bond surface of a composite structure includes the steps of: (1) separating a peel ply, co-cured with a composite substrate, from the composite substrate; and (2) transferring an identifiable marking agent from the peel ply to the composite substrate upon separation of the peel ply from the composite substrate. Residue of the peel ply, transferred from the peel ply to the composite substrate upon separation of the peel ply from the composite substrate, is layered on the identifiable marking agent.

Method for direct inline molding of pre-impregnated composites
A system for fabricating a composite article includes a pre-impregnation station for forming a prepreg comprising a reinforcement impregnated with a resin. The prepreg is provided to a blanking station where a blank is cut from the partially cured prepreg and arranged onto a preforming mold. The blank is then transferred to a forming station, and is formed into the composite article using a compression mold. The pre-impregnation station, the blanking station and the forming station are co-located. During forming of the blank into the composite article using the compression mold, additional prepreg is formed in the pre-impregnation station and passes to the blanking station so as to form a next blank for being formed into a next composite article during a subsequent molding cycle. Optionally, the prepreg is partially cured prior to being cut in the blanking station.
