Insect Collection Device
20250151709 · 2025-05-15 ·

A device and method for removing insects, specifically small hive beetles, from a beehive without harming the hive or the bees. The device includes a collection tube, a collection chamber, a vacuum, and a power source. The vacuum is fluidly connected to the collection tube such that the vacuum creates suction at the entrance to the collection tube. A user may insert the tip of the collection tube into the individual cells of a beehive to remove any pest insects from the cells of the hive. Further, a user may remove any pests from the corners and surfaces surrounding the hive. The device is configured to create an appropriate amount of suction to remove the pests without damaging the structure of the hive or harming the bees therein.

Reusable non-lethal insect trap

A handheld vacuum assembly for the capture and collection of small insects that includes a vacuum body defining a suction chamber, a motor operably configured to generate a vacuum downstream in the suction chamber, a funnel member defining a suction channel located downstream of the suction chamber and a suction channel area therein, a valve disposed within the suction channel that is configured to open and close to inhibit or prevent insects from leaving the funnel member, and a filter assembly disposed upstream of the suction channel, downstream of the motor, having a porous membrane member, having a filter cap selectively removably coupled to the porous membrane member and having a plurality of selectively removable strips disposed thereon and each having an adhesive surface oriented in a direction facing the distal tip of the funnel member.

System and method for eradicating ectoparasites
12446547 · 2025-10-21 ·

The ectoparasite eradicating device is configured to eradicate lice and eggs by conveying and directing heated air to the base of the hair shaft where lice live and lay egg by connecting to a common commercially available blow dryer. The device includes a rotatable sleeve to facilitate maintenance of contact of the lower concave edge with the scalp over a range of movements of the blow dryer. A plate with a flow disrupting lip separates the hot air flow from the scalp to avoid burning, while ensuring effective treatment of the hair to the root at the edge of the plate.

Poleborne thrustable arthropod trap
12465040 · 2025-11-11 ·

A poleborne thrustable arthropod trap allows a user to kill or capture an arthropod from a safe distance. The trap includes a tube, a pole extending through the tube, and a handle stop attached to a proximal end of the pole to limit distal extension of the pole. A receptacle having a distal opening is attached to a distal end of the tube, and a disk moveable within the receptacle is attached to a distal end of the pole to limit proximal retraction of the pole. A user wielding the tube may shove the receptacle against a surface to enclose an arthropod within the receptacle. The user may then thrust the k to kill the arthropod, or slowly push the disk to coax the arthropod into the receptacle then retract the disk to trap the arthropod.
