A composition comprises a copolymer made from a thiol terminated hydrocarbon monomer and at least one additional monomer chosen from the compounds of i) a terminally unsaturated hydrocarbon monomer, ii) an isocyanate functionalized hydrocarbon monomer and iii) a silane monomer substituted with two or more C.sub.2 to C.sub.8 terminally unsaturated alkenyl groups or C.sub.2 to C.sub.8 terminally unsaturated alkynyl groups. The composition also includes a particulate filler dispersed in the copolymer and a solvent. If the terminally unsaturated hydrocarbon monomer is polybutadiene, the polybutadiene contains from about 0 mol % to about 30 mol % of polymer units in a cis-1,4-butadiene form. Composites made from the composition and methods for making composite panels are also disclosed.

Method for producing melamine/formaldehyde foams

The present invention relates to processes for producing melamine-formaldehyde foams, said processes comprising the steps of: a) producing an aqueous mixture M1) comprising 100 parts by weight of at least one melamine-formaldehyde precondensate, 2 to 4 parts by weight of at least one curative, 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of a surfactant mixture, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of at least one salt of an inorganic acid or one salt of an organic carboxylic acid, 1 to 40 parts by weight of at least one blowing agent, 0 to 5 parts by weight of at least one dye and/or optical brightener, 0 to 20 parts by weight of one or more further additives, and 25 to 60 parts by weight of water, b) heating and foaming said mixture M1) using microwave radiation, c) crosslinking and curing the resulting foam using the curative and microwave radiation, d) drying the foam using microwave radiation, and e) annealing the dried foam using hot air, wherein as essential feature of the present invention said mixture M1) comprises a surfactant mixture comprising a mixture of 50 to 90 wt % of an anionic surfactant and 10 to 50 wt % of a nonionic surfactant, wherein the weight percentages are each based on the total weight of the surfactant mixture, and also to melamine-formaldehyde foams obtainable by the processes of the present invention and also to uses of said foams.

A fastener sealing tool that utilizes curable material to seal the area around a fastener connected to a surface. In one embodiment of the invention the fastener sealing tool is a manually operated tool, hand operated by a user who visually identifies the fastener to be sealed and then operates the fastener sealing tool to seal the desired fastener. In a second embodiment of the invention the fastener sealing tool is an end of arm tool for a robot that automatically identifies or is programmed to move to the location of the fastener, and then seal the fastener using the fastener sealing tool. The fastener sealing tool utilizes a load cell to control the flow of material and to detect certain unwanted conditions.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING CURED PRODUCT OF EPISULFIDE-BASED RESIN

The present invention can provide a method for producing a cured product of an episulfide-based resin, the method having: (A) a step for obtaining a composition for a resin by mixing compound (a), compound (b) and a polymerization catalyst; (B) a step for pouring the composition for a resin into a mold; and (C) a step in which, by increasing the temperature of a heating medium, the composition for a resin is polymerized in the heating medium that contains a liquid having a thermal conductivity of 0.2 W/m.Math.K or higher, or in a shower of the heating medium. The maximum temperature of the heating medium in step (C) is 55 to 110 C.

The invention is directed to a composite structure in which a metal member having a roughened surface and a resin member are joined in a state in which at least a portion of the roughened surface is included. The resin member is made of a molded article obtained by melt-molding a polyarylene sulfide resin composition containing a polyarylene sulfide resin. In the roughened surface, a cumulative pore volume of a pore diameter in a range of 0.1 m to 20 m is in a range of 0.5 nL/mm.sup.2 or more and 5 nL/mm.sup.2 or less measured by mercury porosimetry. According to the invention, it is possible to provide a composite structure that is obtained by joining a metal member and a molded article made of polyarylene sulfide resin composition and is more excellent in joining strength, heat cycle resistance, and sealing properties, and a method for producing the composite structure.
