THREE-DIMENSIONALLY PATTERNABLE THERMAL INTERFACE
A three-dimensional geometry of a thermal interface body may be customized to substantially fill an irregular gap along a thermal dissipation pathway in an electronic package. The thermal interface body is fabricated through an additive deposition process, wherein sequential patterns of thermal interface material are coherently connected to other deposited patterns of thermal interface material.
LIGHTWEIGHT LIQUID METAL EMBEDDED ELASTOMER COMPOSITE
A lightweight liquid metal composition and a method for producing a lightweight liquid metal composition. The composition includes: a liquid metal inclusion; a low-density phase including a plurality of particles; and an elastic polymer. The method includes: combining a low-density phase with a liquid metal to produce a multiphase liquid metal (LM), the low-density phase including a material having a density less than a density of the LM; mixing the multiphase LM with an elastomer to produce an emulsion; and curing the emulsion to produce a lightweight LM composition.
Extrusion system for 3-D printing of viscous elastomers
Disclosed is direct ink write (DIW) print extrusion head for 3D printing of viscous elastomers. The disclosed print extrusion head comprises a mixer assembly, comprising a fluid distribution cap coupled to a carrier, an in-line mixer coupled to the fluid distribution cap. A cooling jacket surrounds the in-line mixer. A nozzle is coupled to the in-line mixer and protrudes below the cooling jacket over a work surface. The position of the nozzle relative to the work surface is changeable. At least one heat source is on the chassis and disposed adjacent to the fluid distribution cap. The at least one heat source comprises a heat guiding element to direct heat to a region onto the work surface below the nozzle.
METHODS TO REDUCE FLASHES ON ELECTRODES
A method for use in making an electrode assembly (20) comprises the steps of applying an electrode (24) on a first layer of material (22); laser welding a lead (23) to the electrode; applying an adhesive backfill (26) over the electrode and the lead; and applying a second layer of material (28) over the adhesive backfill and a portion of the first layer to prevent a leakage path between the electrode and the second layer.
METHOD FOR PREPARING MICROGROOVE ARRAY SURFACE WITH NEARLY CYLINDRICAL SURFACE BASED ON AIR MOLDING METHOD
The present invention provides a method for preparing a microgroove array surface with a nearly cylindrical surface based on an air molding method, and relates to the technical field of functional surface preparation. The method includes the following steps: (1) preparing a microgroove array surface, uniformly spreading a layer of a liquid polymer film to be formed on the auxiliary plate, and placing a spacer block in an empty position on the microgroove array surface; (2) placing the auxiliary plate spread with the liquid polymer film on the spacer block on the microgroove array surface, maintaining this state, and feeding the auxiliary plate into a vacuum drying oven; and (3), setting a pressure in the vacuum drying oven according to a designed pressure, heating and solidifying the liquid polymer film, and separating the microgroove array surface to obtain the microgroove array surface with the nearly cylindrical surface.
Method for manufacturing a breast prosthesis
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a breast prosthesis, in which a first dispersion of a first granular material is introduced into a cross-linkable silicone compound. The silicone compound subsequently is cured in order to form a prosthesis body, wherein the prosthesis body is heated to a shrinking temperature which lies above the melting point of the thermoplastic material.
Method for forming complex hollow models from low modulus material
A method is provided for manufacturing a complex hollow article from a flexible polymer material. The method includes using an additive manufacturing system to form a precursory structure that is formed from a build material and phase change material, melting and removing the phase change material, injecting uncured liquid flexible polymer material into a cavity defined by the build material, curing and solidifying the flexible polymer material, and cracking and removing the build material from the flexible polymer material to provide the hollow article.
Ceramic slurries with photoreactive-photostable hybrid binders
Ceramic slurries may include ceramic particles, a photoreactive-photostable hybrid binder, and a photoinitiator. The photoreactive-photostable hybrid binder may include a photoreactive organic resin component, a photoreactive siloxane component, and one or more photostable siloxane components. Methods of forming a ceramic part may include curing a portion of a ceramic slurry by exposing the portion of the ceramic slurry to light to form a green ceramic part, and partially firing the green ceramic part to form a brown ceramic part. The brown ceramic part may be sintered at or above a sintering temperature of the ceramic particles to form a ceramic part, wherein sintering includes heating the brown ceramic part to a sufficient temperature to promote reaction bonding that converts silica from the photoreactive-photostable hybrid binder into silicates that bond with the ceramic particles.
