During a cutting operation, rotating blades ripe surface material from soil up onto a filtering screen and along this further to a collecting box so that only stones and debris of e.g. at least 1 cm enter the box whereas smaller particles/soil escape through the filter screen and are thereby returned to the lawn surface, which significantly increases the nutrient level in the upper layers of the lawn.

A machine and method for collecting rocks in fields and then for dumping these rocks in a row for easier pickup or for storage. The machine also includes rock lifter plates that assist the lifting of rocks from the field up onto the rock collectors for screening and collection. A further embodiment of the machine includes a rock collector unloader mechanism for raising the rock collectors thereby unloading the collected rocks roughly in rows. These rows may be formed off the field, or picked up more easily by hand or with a conventional row-collecting rock picker, and then removed from the field. The rock collector unloader mechanism may be attached to a trailer frame portion of the machine, the trailer frame serving to pull the rock collectors when the trailer frame is attached to a tractor or suitable pulling machine.

A harvesting attachment includes a supporting frame, which is movable in a forward direction over a field. A pick-up device is attached to the supporting frame for picking up crop produce from the field. A height-adjustable cross-feeding auger is attached to the supporting frame. The cross-feeding auger is driveable by a drive shaft rotatably supported on the frame. A telescopic cardan shaft is arranged between the drive shaft and the cross-feeding auger to communicate torque therebetween.
