ACOUSTIC AND THERMAL SHIELD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
20240286561 · 2024-08-29 ·

An acoustic and thermal shield for a motor vehicle, including a porous shell based on fibers bound together by a binding agent and a spring layer based on elastically compressible polyurethane foam, the porosity of the shell being such that the foam is able to create a sealed skin on the underside of the shell, which fibers consist of two types: thick reinforcing fibers in an amount of 25 to 40% by weight of the shell and fine fibers in an amount of 15 to 35% by weight of the shell, the bonding agent being formed by fusible bonding fibers in an amount of 35 to 50% by weight of the shell, so that substantially no foam penetrates the thickness of the shell.

Use of recycled packaging in polymer composite products

A polymer composite and its method of manufacture using a recycled multilayer material. An example of the recycled multilayer material is comprised of a polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate/aluminum film or polyethylene/nylon/aluminum film that may be extruded with organic filler to obtain desirable performance in wood-substitute products such as deck boards, railing, fencing, pergolas, residential cladding/siding, sheet products, and other applications.

Method and a connecting system for the joining of moulded parts

A method for the connection of moulded parts, wherein a locking collar pin with locking grooves or with an external thread, is driven through the moulded parts and subsequently a locking collar is locked together with at least some of the locking grooves, or with threaded sections of the locking collar pin, by the application of radial pressure, or by means of a screwing operation. A connecting system with a locking ring pin, which has a punching section for purposes of punching through the moulded parts, and also locking grooves for purposes of active engagement with a locking ring; the latter extends over at least two adjacent locking grooves in the axial direction, or over at least two adjacent threads in the axial direction.

Method for cosmetically altering a fiberglass piece

A method of cosmetically altering a fiberglass piece comprising having a graphical element disposed on a layer of textile fabric. An outer layer of a curable gel-coat is applied to a mold for the cosmetically altered fiberglass piece. At least one intermediate layer of textile is then applied over the outer layer, the textile comprising a graphical element disposed adjacent to the outer layer. An inner layer is then applied to the intermediate layer, the inner layer providing structural support to the fiberglass piece. A bonding agent is then applied to wet out the outer layer, the intermediate layer, and the inner layer, thereby resulting in an assembly of a wet out three-layer combination, the curing of which results in the cosmetically altered fiberglass piece.

Vehicle trim component and production process for such trim

A vehicle trim component and a production process for the component. The trim component includes: a thermocompressed support panel provided with an opening and a peripheral edge surrounding the opening; an airbag guiding part having a channel arranged in the opening of the support panel, a flap at least partially closing a first end of the channel, and a collar arranged around the channel in the extension of the flap; and a reinforcing frame suited to fix the position of the guiding part relative to the support panel. The peripheral edge of the support panel is attached against the collar, and the reinforcing frame is a part brought in and force fit around the channel and fixed to the peripheral edge of the support panel.
