The method comprises: providing a male mould (28) extending longitudinally in a spanwise direction between an inboard end (30) and an outboard end (32) and extending transversely in a chordwise direction between a leading edge (34) and a trailing edge (36), the male mould (28) defining a male mould surface (38) of convex curvature in the chordwise direction; providing a root plate (48) having one or more root inserts (50) projecting therefrom, the or each root insert (50) being arranged along an arcuate path; arranging one or more inner fibrous layers (40) on the male mould surface (38); arranging the root plate (48) at the inboard end (30,) of the male mould (28) such that the or each root insert (50) overlays an inner fibrous layer at the root end of the mould (28). The method further comprises arranging one or more outer fibrous layers on top of the inner fibrous layers (40) and on top of the or each root insert (50), providing resin to the fibrous layers (40) and to the or each root insert (50) and curing the resin to form a prefabricated root section (26) for subsequent use in the manufacture of a wind turbine blade (10). Curing the resin to form the prefabricated root section (26) is conducted before removing the prefabricated root section (26) from the male mould (28).

Methods of forming golf club heads

Wood-type golf clubs and/or golf club heads include: (a) a golf club head base member including a face member having a ball striking face; and (b) a polymeric body member engaged with the golf club head base member, wherein the polymeric body member is formed via a rotational molding process (or other centrifugal force inducing molding process) and/or engaged with the golf club head base member via a rotational molding process (or other centrifugal force inducing molding process). The polymeric body member forms at least a portion of a crown member of the club head in some structures.

Method and fixture for molding a tank with an embedded ring

A method of and fixture for molding a product with an embedded ring. A system for molding a ring into a product including a rotational molding mold with an opening formed in the rotational molding mold sized to fit a ring. A fixture is removably couplable to the ring, wherein the ring and the fixture when coupled are removably couplable in the opening. The fixture is removed from the ring after the ring is molded into a product. A method of manufacturing a product with an embedded ring includes: coupling a ring to a fixture; clamping the fixture and the ring in an opening in a mold top; clamping the mold top to a mold bottom; rotomolding a product; unclamping the fixture from the mold top; uncoupling the fixture from the ring; unclamping the mold top and the mold bottom; and removing the product from the mold.

POLYMERIC GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH METALLIC FACE
20170307963 · 2017-10-26 ·

A golf club head includes a club face and a body. The club face is formed from a metallic material and includes a first, hitting surface, a second, rear surface that is opposite the first surface, and a flange that is separated from the second surface by a transverse distance. The body is formed from a polymeric material and includes a crown, a sole, a hosel, and a face support. The club face and the body cooperate to define a closed volume, and the face support extends to opposing sides of the flange and is operative to couple the club face to the body.

MANUFACTURING METHOD OF INSERT MOLDED ARTICLE
20170305048 · 2017-10-26 · ·

The present invention is intended to provide a manufacturing method of an insert molded article that makes it possible to manufacture efficiently the insert molded article including a metallic insert, an inside member made of a synthetic resin and covering a portion of the insert, and an outside member made of a synthetic resin different from the material of the inside member and covering a portion of the inside member using general molding machines, not a dedicated two-color molding machine.

General molding machines are used to manufacture the insert molded article formed by injection molding of a resin part in twice. An insert core 7 is used in common in primary molding using a primary molding die C1 and in a secondary molding using a secondary molding die. A round shaft 7C of the insert core 7 is fitted into an internal hole 2C of an insert 2 to form a coupled body 10 in which the insert 2 and the insert core 7 are coupled together. The coupled body 10 is used in common at the primary molding step and the secondary molding step.

LIGHTWEIGHT VEHICLE PAN ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR ATTACHMENT TO VEHICLE FRAME VIA WELDING

A lightweight vehicle pan assembly and for attachment to a vehicle frame via welding includes at least one metal flange and a molded pan body. The at least one metal flange has a weld portion adapted for welded attachment to the vehicle frame and an interface portion extending from the weld portion. The molded pan body has a base wall and at least one side wall extending upward from the base wall. The interface portion of the at least one metal flange is embedded in the at least one side wall of the molded pan body. The interface portion includes at least two rows of apertures defined therein for increasing a bond strength between the at least one metal flange and the molded pan body.

CORE UNIT MANUFACTURING APPARATUS AND CORE UNIT MANUFACTURING METHOD

There are provided a core unit manufacturing apparatus and a core unit manufacturing method including: a molding device that fills a resin into a space portion in a core body; a resin transfer unit that transfers a resin material to the molding device to supply the resin material thereto; and a core transfer unit that carries the core body in and out of a part between a pair of dies of the molding device.
