Method for Producing a Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Component and Fiber-Reinforced Component
A method for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic component and a fiber-reinforced plastic component. The method includes providing a textile insert having a decoration, inserting the textile insert and a semi-finished fiber product into a pressing tool, and processing the textile insert, the semi-finished fiber product, and a matrix material in the pressing tool to form the fiber-reinforced plastic component. The matrix material is cured during the processing.
MOULDING APPARATUS FOR FORMING A FASTENING DEVICE
A molding apparatus (10) for forming a retaining device. The molding apparatus (10) comprises a molding strip (12) and a molding support (24). The molding strip (12) has an inside face (14), an outside face (16), and a plurality of through cavities (18) extending from the outside face (16) to the inside face (14), the molding strip (12) extending in a longitudinal direction (X) and presenting both a transverse direction (Y) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X), and also a height direction (Z) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (X) and to the transverse direction (Y). The inside face (14) is configured to press against a molding face (26) of the molding support (24), wherein the inside face (14) of the molding strip (12) and/or the molding face (26) of the molding support (24) includes an array of passages, the array of passages forming vents and connecting together the cavities (18) when the molding strip (12) is pressed against the molding support (24).
Novel Silicone Liner
A silicone prosthetic liner for use with a prosthetic assembly that acts as the interface between the residual limb of an amputee and the socket assembly. The prosthetic liner comprises an open proximal end, a closed distal end, and sidewalls comprising an inner layer of molded silicone. The silicone is molded over a mandrel that has been sandblasted using #36 grit and, optionally, #320 grit at 100 psi so as to form microcraters and reduce the coefficient of static friction.
REINFORCED COMPOSITE ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A reinforced composite assembly includes a first sheet made of carbon fiber and having a first perimeter, a second sheet made of a non-carbon fiber material and having a second perimeter, wherein the second sheet is disposed atop the first sheet within the first perimeter, and a metallic plate having a third perimeter, wherein the metallic plate is disposed atop the second sheet within the second perimeter. The metallic plate has a plurality of holes formed therein about a perimeter of the metallic plate and defining a plurality of respective bridge portions between each of the holes and an adjacent outer edge of the metallic plate, and/or a plurality of extensions extending outward from a main portion of the metallic plate. A first arrangement of thread stitching secures each of the bridge portions and extensions to the second sheet or to the first and second sheets.
ABSORBENT CORE, ARTICLES COMPRISING SAID CORE, AND METHODS OF MAKING
An absorbent core comprising substantially continuous zones of one or more high fluid distribution structures and discontinuous zones of fluid absorption structures surrounding the one or more high fluid distribution structures, wherein the one or more high fluid distribution structures are arranged to distribute fluid across the absorbent core at a speed that is faster than the speed of fluid distribution across the absorbent core by said discontinuous fluid absorption structures, and wherein said continuous zones extend along a path that is substantially parallel to at least a portion of the perimeter of the core, said portion of the perimeter of the core comprising at least a portion of the sides of the core and one of the ends of the core.
Method of Producing Composites
A method of producing composites that are capable of being used in various industries, including the aerospace and automotive industries. In particular, the present disclosure relates to methods of curing one or more prepregs and/or a liquid curable composition using one or more self-supporting, nonwoven carbon nanotube sheets comprising substantially non-aligned carbon nanotubes.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FABRIC SUSPENSION SEAT STRUCTURE
A seat assembly includes a fabric component having a seat surface and a frame including an interior segment directly attached to the fabric component. The interior segment extends from an exterior segment that has a greater flexural resistance than the interior segment.
WOUND DRESSING HAVING MICROBE RESISTANT MICROPATTERENED SURFACE
A wound dressing includes a dressing member or body which has a wound-facing side intended to be placed adjacent a wound, such a surgical wound. The wound-facing side of the wound dressing is provided with a plurality of microstructures in the form of denticles. Each of the denticles includes a body that extends from a base of the denticle laterally over, but not connected to, the dressing member. The denticles are arranged in an overlapping manner such that the body of one denticle overlaps the body of one or two other adjacent denticles. The denticles create a microstructured surface that resists bioadhesion, and which, upon flex of the wound dressing, create mechanical interference with each other that can dislodge organisms that manage to adhere to the wound-facing side of the wound dressing in spite of the microstructured surface.
