Precursor compounds for molecular coatings

Presented are compositions that can be used as protective coatings for agricultural (e.g., food) substrates. The compositions can comprise a compound of Formula I: ##STR00001##
and an additive, wherein the variables m, n, q, r, R.sup.a, R.sup.b, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9, R.sup.10, R.sup.11, R.sup.12 and R.sup.13 are defined herein. The protective coatings formed from the compositions can be used to prevent food spoilage due to, for instance, moisture loss, oxidation, or infection by a foreign pathogen.

TUBULAR FILTER THAT ABSORBS ETHYLENE OR OTHER GASES, FOR REFRIGERATED TRANSPORT CONTAINERS

The invention relates to a tubular filter that absorbs ethylene or other gases for refrigerated transport containers, formed by a cylindrical tube of plastic mesh (2) with hermetic caps (3) at both ends, which contains granules that absorb ethylene or other gases, the mesh (2) having a structural configuration formed by an inner crown (20) having a circular filament (201), and an outer crown (21) having a wing-shaped filament (211), the base thereof being wider than the distal end thereof, thereby facilitating the entry of air flow into the tube. It further comprises a support accessory (4) fixed in the container for which the filter (1) is intended, and it has an aerodynamic shape that helps to increase air flow through the filter (1) and liquid collection means.

SOLUTIONS AND METHODS FOR LONG-TERM POLLEN STORAGE
20220279778 · 2022-09-08 ·

The invention provides novel solutions and methods for storage and delivery of pollen to a female reproductive part of a recipient plant. The pollen storage solution provided includes a solute that maintains the tonicity of the pollen storage solution at a concentration between about 0.5 M and about 3.0 M and a cryoprotectant. The methods provided include storing the pollen storage solution and applying pollen stored in the storage pollen solution to at least a first female reproductive part of a recipient plant, thereby pollinating the female reproductive part with the stored pollen from the donor plant.
