Additive Intensifier
A system for forming stacked material is provided. The system may include a housing defining an interior space and comprising a bottom wall and a side wall coupled to said bottom wall; at least one tool configured to shape the stacked material, said at least one tool disposed within said interior space; a membrane extending at least partially over said bottom wall and spaced a distance from said bottom wall, said membrane configured to move towards said bottom wall; and at least one intensifier mechanism disposed in said interior space and configured to induce a force against a portion of the stacked material and against said at least one tool as said membrane is moved towards said bottom wall. Methods are also providing for forming such a stacked material.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ELASTOMER MEMBRANE AND ELASTOMER MEMBRANE
A method for producing an elastomer membrane is proposed. The method includes the step of arranging an electronic data carrier between two layers in a predetermined position, wherein the electronic data carrier is connected at least temporarily to a positioning aid. Compression molding the two layers with the electronic data carrier arranged therebetween is also provided, wherein the positioning aid limits slippage of the electronic data carrier out of the predetermined position during the compression molding.
METHODS OF MAKING A TUBULAR SPECIMEN WITH A PREDETERMINED WRINKLE DEFECT
There is a method of making a tubular specimen with a predetermined wrinkle defect including providing a layup tool with a cavity forming member having a cavity which resembles a desired shape of the at least one wrinkle; orienting a composite material around the mandrel at a wrap angle to form a closed loop; positioning a wrinkle tool on the closed loop; and/or generating at least one wrinkle with a predetermined characteristic in a portion of the closed loop to form a tubular specimen. The predetermined characteristic is at least one of the following: wrinkle location, an outward wrinkle, an inward wrinkle, a wrinkle width, a wrinkle height, and a wrinkle length. In another aspect, there is a method of offset load testing a tubular composite specimen. In a third aspect, there is a method of determining allowable defects for a composite component.
FOUR-COMPONENT ARMREST ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
An armrest assembly includes a support substrate, a fabric layer stretching across a receiver of the support substrate and a matrix interface connecting the fabric layer to the support substrate. A cushion overlies the fabric layer and the receiver and a coverstock conceals the cushion and the fabric layer while closing the receiver. A method of producing the armrest assembly is also disclosed.
METHOD FOR FAST MOLDING FLEXIBLE PLASTIC ON FABRIC AND PRODUCT THEREOF
Disclosed a method for fast molding a flexible plastic on a fabric and a product thereof. A fabric on which molding is to be applied is provided with a bottom paper that is temporarily and adhesively attached to a bottom surface of the fabric. The fabric and the bottom paper are collectively punched to form material feeding holes corresponding to mold cavities and are then collectively clamped in a mold that includes at least two mold blocks for injection molding. The first mold block includes multiple dot-like mold cavities formed thereon and arranged in a predetermined pattern. The second mold block includes channel-like cavities thereon for a plastic material to flow therethrough. Injection is conducted to mold the flexible plastic such that the plastic is forced, under impact by high temperature and high pressure, into a surface of the fabric and thus molded thereon.
METHOD FOR APPLYING PATCHES TO HELMET COVERS
A template made of plexiglass or similar material is inserted into a cover for a protective helmet so that the cover is stretched and once the template is inserted the assembled combination of the cover and the template is oval-shaped. The oval-shaped assembly is placed on top of the bottom plate of a heat press. A layer with a decal or sticker is placed on top of the oval-shaped assembly. A heat press cover sheet is then placed on top of the oval-shaped assembly so that it also becomes into contact with the top plate of the heat press when the heat press is closed. The heat press may be set to a temperature of at least 350 degrees Fahrenheit and it can be set in a closed position for at least 10 seconds in order to transfer sufficient heat so that the decal or sticker is applied or affixed to the cover surface.
KNIT TEXTILES AND UPPERS, AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING THE SAME
Articles of wear having one or more textiles that include a low processing temperature polymeric composition and a high processing temperature polymeric composition, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The low processing temperature polymeric composition and the high processing temperature polymeric composition can be selectively incorporated into a textile to provide one or more structural properties and/or other advantageous properties to the article. The textile can be thermoformed to impart such structural and/or other advantageous properties to the article of wear. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.
System, nozzle and method for coating elastic strands
A contact nozzle for coating an elastic strand with an adhesive. Air is discharged at the adhesive in contact with the strand, causing the adhesive to spread around the periphery of the strand. The air assists with release of the adhesive from the nozzle and also cleans the nozzle to discourage adhesive build-up on the nozzle.

Method that Forms Pattern on Fabric Member and Fixes Pattern on Trim
A method can be used to attach a fabric member to a trim while forming a pattern in the fabric member. A trim has trim grooves formed in one side of the trim and a fabric member has a foam formed in one side of a skin material of the fabric member. A bonding member is coated to an outer surface of the foam and the fabric member is heated where the bonding member is coated. The heated fabric member is placed on the side of the trim where the trim grooves are formed. The fabric member is fixed to the trim by inserting edges of the fabric member into the trim grooves using insertion blades while pattern protrusions formed in a compression jig form a pattern by pressing the skin material of the fabric member.
