A flexible package having a closure device and a lap or fin seal is provided that reduces or eliminates an air gap present at the fin or lap seal portion of conventional packages. The package can include a film with a closure applied to the film. A bridge material is provided to the film to fill the air gap when the closure is in a sealed condition. The flexible package alternatively can include a film having a closure device applied to the film transverse to the first and second side edges of the film, with the first side edge portion extending into the fin seal such that at least a portion of the first side edge portion to eliminate an air gap between the fin seal and at least one of the first and second side edge portions.

A system including a polymeric sheet. The polymeric sheet comprises a base sheet having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and a multiplicity of spaced rails projecting from the first surface of the base sheet. The rails comprise a stem portion attached to and substantially upright from the first surface of the base sheet and a top portion on the distal end of the stem opposite the base sheet. The top portion comprises a first surface opposite the base sheet and a second surface facing the first surface of the base sheet. Additionally, the rails have a length greater than the width of the stems. The first surface of the base sheet, the second surface of the top portion and the surface of the stem defines a cavity with walls, and an adhesive coated on at least a portion of the cavity wall.

Through-holes are formed at a constant pitch along a side-edge portion of a fastener tape where a tape base fabric is covered by a waterproof layer, the through-holes piercing the fastener tape. Plasma treatment or corona treatment is applied to the side-edge portion of the fastener tape so as to form an activation region on a surface of the waterproof layer on one or both sides of the fastener tape. Injection molding of fastener elements is performed to attach the fastener elements to the side-edge portion of the fastener tape. Melted resin adheres to the activation region and fills the through-hole before solidifying into the fastener element.

At least one element row includes the elements of a plurality of types, and is classified into a neighboring class, and a remote class. Regarding an impact to be applied to the elements and the stop claw which collide inside the slider when a force for pulling out one of the element rows from the slider is applied to the one element row, the elements forming the remote class include strong elements of a type configured to strengthen the impact more than the elements forming the neighboring class. All of the elements forming the neighboring class are weak elements of a type configured to weaken the impact more than the strong elements.

Fastener stringer includes: a fastener tape; a fastener element arranged on a side edge portion of the fastener tape; and a covering member made of soft material and covering the fastener tape, the covering member comprising a sealing portion positioned on an opposite side of the fastener element with respect to the fastener tape in a thickness direction of the fastener tape. The covering member includes a flexible core sheet extending in a longitudinal direction of the fastener stringer. The core sheet is embedded in the soft material such that one surface of the core sheet is at least partially exposed or both surfaces of the core sheet are not exposed.
