Display device and apparatus and method of manufacturing the same
A display device includes a cover member which is at least partially bent, a panel member arranged along a surface of the cover member, where the panel member displays an image, and a support member arranged on another surface of the panel member different from the surface of the panel member on which the cover member is arranged.
Birefringent polymer having bimodal molecular weight
An optically anisotropic polymer thin film includes a crystallizable polymer and an additive configured to interact with the polymer (e.g., via π-π interactions) to facilitate chain alignment and, in some examples, create a higher crystalline content within the polymer thin film. The polymer thin film may be characterized by a bimodal molecular weight distribution where the molecular weight of the additive may be less than approximately 50% of the molecular weight of the crystallizable polymer. Example crystallizable polymers include polyethylene naphthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene naphthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, as well as derivatives thereof. Example additives, which may occupy up to approximately 10 wt. % of the polymer thin film, include aromatic ester oligomers, aromatic amide oligomers, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, for example. The optically anisotropic polymer thin film may be characterized by a refractive index greater than approximately 1.7 and an in-plane birefringence greater than approximately 0.2.
Undergarment receiving a thin intermediate bonding layer between two textiles prior to thermoforming
A process for manufacturing an undergarment having two superimposed textiles, comprising depositing on certain parts of reinforcements (8) comprising a thick layer of a shaped memory foam elastic material, the polymerization of this material and also the shaping of the textiles of the undergarment by thermoforming, characterized in that it comprises a step of depositing, on the entire surface of at least the textiles, a thin layer of an elastic adhesive-bonding material, and then a step of polymerizing this thin layer of adhesive bonding during the thermoforming for shaping, and in that it comprises a step of prior depositing, on the textile receiving the layer of reinforcement (8), of a barrier layer of an elastic material, which is polymerized before the depositing of this reinforcement.
Reduced density thermoplastics
The instant application discloses, among other things, ways to manufacture reduced density thermoplastics. A rapid foaming process which may create a polymer product by saturating thermoplastic sheet or preforms, heating, and then forming into final shape, is described. The polymer product may include an integral solid skin. This method may be utilized with any thermoplastic. The material handling, saturation methods, and end products are also described.
Recyclable PET film
The present invention relates to a multilayer, coextruded polyester film including at least one outer layer (A) and a base layer (B), in which the at least one outer layer (A) includes, to an extent of at least 60 wt %, a polyester or a copolyester formed from units derived from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and diols, wherein the units derived from dicarboxylic acids are selected from one or more dicarboxylic acids from the group of succinic acid, adipic acid, suberic acid, azelaic acid and sebacic acid, and the units derived from diols are selected from one or more diols from the group of ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol and neopentyl glycol.
The present invention further relates to a process for producing the film according to the invention, to the use thereof and to a process for recycling the polyester film according to the invention.
TILE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The invention provides a process of producing an interconnecting multi-layered LVT tile for a modular flooring system, the process comprising the steps of: a) forming abase substrate of plastics material with at least one locating guide by injection moulding; b) coating the back of an LVT surface layer with adhesive; c) aligning the LVT surface layer to a top surface of the base substrate such that the LVT surface layer abuts the or each locating guide of the base substrate; d) press rolling the base substrate and LVT surface layer together to form an oversized blank; and e) punching out an interlock shape from the oversized blank using a punch and die tool.
Absorbent laminated material
Absorbent laminated materials that include two spunbond nonwoven layers with a cellulose layer arranged in between the spunbond nonwoven layers are disclosed. The different layers of the absorbent laminated material are bonded through an ultrasonic treatment, and can further undergo an embossing step. In addition, the absorbent laminated materials may be used as disposable wiping products, among other applications.
BREAST PROSTHESES, METHODS OF MANUFACTURING BREAST PROSTHESES, AND METHODS OF TREATMENT USING BREAST PROSTHESES
Improved breast prostheses, methods of making breast prostheses, and methods of treatment using such breast prostheses are described.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESIN MOLDED PRODUCT
An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of reducing the hydrolysis of a biodegradable resin at the time of molding with respect to a biodegradable resin-containing resin composition having a high water content. Provided is a resin composition comprising: a biodegradable resin and heavy calcium carbonate particles in a mass ratio of 50:50 to 10:90, in which 0.5% by mass or more and 3.5% by mass or less of calcium oxide is comprised relative to the resin composition, and 0.2% by mass or more of water is comprised relative to the resin composition.
Closed Loop Feedback Press
The pressing of an article is achieved with a closed-loop feedback press. The closed-loop feedback press is effective to measure an amount of pressure applied and adjust the pressure to achieve a prescribed amount of compression on the article. Further, the press may leverage a closed-loop feedback system to maintain a consistent temperature of one or more platens. The press is able to adjust a pressure applied one or more times during a pressing operation to accelerate a temperature change in the pressed article while reducing the pressure applied as the temperature approaches a target temperature to limit unintentional deformation and bleeding of the pressed material of the article.
