The present invention provides a process for producing a blow-molded foam including foamed cells, the process including: kneading a polyolefin-based resin containing a foaming agent mixed therewith in an extruder, and extruding a parison formed of the polyolefin-based resin between split mold blocks from a die slit at an extrusion rate of 700 kg/h or more.
COMPRESSION MOLDING HOLLOW STRUCTURE
A process for molding a hollow structure comprising the steps of: a. Forming a mandrel in a shape of a proposed cavity from a water-soluble substance capable of withstanding temperatures and pressures from a predetermined compression molding process; b. Positioning the mandrel in a suitable mold for forming an article which includes the mandrel within the article; and, c. Removing the mandrel by loosening and dissolving the mandrel with a water solution, thereby creating a cavity in the article.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN AIR CONDUIT COMPONENT USING AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD WITH MODIFICATION OF AT LEAST ONE PROCESS PARAMETER DURING PROCESS EXECUTION, AND AIR CONDUIT COMPONENT OF THIS KIND
A method for manufacturing an air conduit component from a construction material using an additive manufacturing method in accordance with a set of process parameters defining the manufacturing method; at least one process parameter of the process parameter set is modified during additive manufacture of the air conduit component, in order to embody, in the air conduit component, regions having a different porosity that differs in each case from zero.
Net Attachment System
A net securing system and method of securing the net including a blow molded part with a plurality of holes, channels, and vertically tapered clips. Each of the plurality of vertically tapered clips is spaced apart from a central vertical axis of the holes at a distance greater than the hole width. In many embodiments, the net securing system has at least one protrusion on the inner surface of the vertically tapered clip. The net securing system secures a sports net when part of a net is inserted through the hole, around the vertically tapered clip and pinched within the channels. The net securing system may also include a backboard, a base connected to the backboard by a support rod, an attachment support connected to the support rod, a rim, and a net. Also disclosed is a method of forming the net securing system.
RE-MOLDABLE HOLSTER
A holster for a firearm is disclosed. The holster includes a first layer, a second layer and a third layer sandwiched between the first layer and the second layer. The first layer is made of a first material and defines an outer surface of the holster. The second layer is made of a second material and defines an inner surface of the holster. The third layer is made of a thermoplastic composite material with fibers embedded in a thermoplastic resin. A heating of the holster between a predetermined temperature range softens the third layer to facilitate a molding of the holster.
Vehicle compartment louver carrier with integrated ducting
The present invention is directed to a carrier for an automobile with integrated active ducting. The carrier includes at least one aperture, and at least one louver rotatably mounted in the aperture. Also attached to the carrier is an actuator, and the actuator is connected to the louver. The actuator is operable for moving the louver between an open position and a closed position such that when the louver is in the open position, air flow passes through the aperture.
Blow-molded foam
An object of the invention is to provide a blow-molded foam which has homogeneous foamed cells in size, is light in weight, and is excellent in surface smoothness, and a process for producing the same. The invention is directed to a blow-molded foam 1 having a wall portion formed in such a manner that a thermoplastic resin containing a foaming agent mixed therewith is subjected to blow molding. Herein, the wall portion has a closed cell structure in which a plurality of foamed cells are contained. The wall portion has an expansion ratio of not less than 2.0 times. The wall portion has an outer face having a center-line average surface roughness Ra of less than 9.0 μm. The foamed cell has a cell diameter having a standard deviation of less than 40 μm in a thickness direction of the wall portion.
Injection stretch blow molded articles and random copolymers for use therein
A polymer composition adapted for use in injection stretch blow molding may include a metallocene random propylene-based copolymer in the absence of a clarifier. The metallocene random propylene-based copolymer may exhibit a melting point of from 105° C. to less than 175° C., a recrystallization temperature ranging from 85° C. to 100° C. as measured by DSC, a microtacticity ranging from 89% to 99%, a molecular weight (Mw) ranging from 170,000 to 210,000, and a melt flow rate of from about 1 dg/min. to about 40 dg/min. A method of forming an injection stretch blow molded (ISBM) article may include providing the metallocene random propylene-based copolymer, injection molding the metallocene random propylene-based copolymer in the absence of a clarifier into a preform, and stretch-blowing the preform into an article.
Molding method for fiber-reinforced plastic structure and vehicle wheel
The present invention applies to a molding method for a fiber-reinforced plastic structure having an internal cavity. Firstly, grain groups, which mainly consist of a plurality of high-rigidity grains, are accommodated in bags, and a plurality of cores are formed. A reinforcing fiber substrate, is placed between the plurality of adjacent cores so as to be interposed therebetween. For example, a plurality of molding base materials are prepared by surrounding each core with a prepreg, and the plurality of molding base materials are combined and placed inside a molding die, and the molding base materials are compression molded. When compression molding, a part of the outer surface of the cores is locally pressurized, and the internal pressure of the cores is increased, changing the shape thereof, thus eliminating voids that are present between the cores and the prepreg and/or the prepreg and the molding surface of the die.
SPACER FOR A MANUFACTURED STRUCTURE
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for a spacer for a manufactured structure. A spacer includes a plurality of legs where each leg includes an elongate member that extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The proximal end of each leg is connected to one another at a central point such that the legs are spaced radially about the central point and substantially equidistant from one another. The distal ends of the legs include a material that has a predefined melting point such that the distal ends attach to a surface in contact with the distal ends responsive to the predefined melting point being reached during a molding process.
