Embodiments of the present disclosure, in one aspect, relate to compositions including a vacancy-engineered (VE)-ZnO nanocomposite, methods of making a composition, methods of using a composition, and the like.
ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL WETTABLE POWDER COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF THEIR USE
The present invention is directed to Mycorrhizal wettable powder formulations containing lactose and sodium lignosulfonate. The present invention is further directed to methods of improving plant growth by applying a Mycorrhizae wettable powder formulation containing lactose and sodium lignosulfonate to a plant or an area where a plant will grow including plant root zones and furrows.
Metal oxide coating of water insoluble ingredients
The invention relates to process for coating a solid, water-insoluble particulate matter, with a metal oxide comprising: (a) contacting the solid water-insoluble particulate matter with a cationic additive in an aqueous medium to obtain a dispersion of said particulate matter having a positive zeta potential; (b) coating the solid water-insoluble particulate matter by precipitation of a metal oxide salt onto the surface of the particulate matter, forming a metal oxide layer thereon; and (c) aging said coating layer. The invention further relates to coated particulate matter obtained by the process and to compositions comprising solid, water-insoluble particulate matter, coated by a metal oxide layer, the particulate matter being a dermatological active agent or a pesticide. The invention additionally relates to methods of treating a surface condition in a subject using compositions comprising solid, water insoluble dermatologically active agent, coated by a metal oxide layer.
Method for reduction in microbial activity in poultry processing
A process for reducing the bacterial count on a poultry carcass during poultry processing after the picking stage and prior to the chilling stage by applying an intervention solution having at least one equilibrium peroxycarboxylic acid or a pH modified peroxycarboxylic acid comprising peroxyacetic acid to the poultry carcass at an elevated temperature above 100 F. and at an elevated concentration of at least 200 ppm for a desired period of time of less than about 30 seconds to reduce the bacterial count by at least 60 percent. The process providing acceptable antimicrobial control in poultry processing prior to the chilling stage.
Methods, Compounds and Compositions for Repelling Insects and/or Arachnids
The present specification discloses natural repellent compounds, and isomeric forms, structural analogues and derivatives of the said compounds, having repellent activity against mosquitoes and other blood-sucking arthropods, compositions comprising such repellent compounds, methods of screening for such repellent compounds, methods of reducing mosquito bites on an individual and methods of reducing mosquito infestation to a location.
Cleaning composition
Provided herein is a composition that includes: (i) chelator (e.g., ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)), (ii) buffer system (e.g., potassium phosphate dibasic and sodium hydroxide), (iii) cleaner (e.g., diethyl glycol monoethyl ether), (iv) solubilizer (e.g., propylene glycol), and (v) diluent (e.g., water), wherein the composition has a pH of at least about 9.5. Also provided is a method of cleaning a medical device that includes contacting the medical device with the composition described herein, for a period of time effective to clean the medical device. Subsequent to the cleaning, the medical device can optionally be disinfected, dried, and stored.
Anti-leukocyte adhesion for the mitigation of potential adverse events caused by CD3-specific binding domains
The present invention relates in essence to use of a compound, which decreases or inhibits the binding of mammalian T-cells to mammalian endothelial cells for use in a method of prophylaxis and/or amelioration and/or treatment of clinical adverse events caused by a therapy which comprises re-directing of T-cells against target cells in a patient. Such a therapy includes, but is not limited to, treatment with an antibody comprising a CD3 binding domain, such as a CD20CD3 or a CD19CD3 bispecific single chain antibody, e.g., blinatumomab (MT-103). Methods of treatment of patients having or being at risk of clinical adverse events caused by therapy which comprises re-directing of T-cells against target cells are also contemplated, as are methods of identifying a compound for administration in the methods of prophylaxis, amelioration and/or treatment. Such anti-adhesive type compounds include, but are not limited to, antibodies, like natalizumab, efalizumab, and etrolizumab; minocycline, (acetyl-)salicyclic acid, astilbin, and flavonoids; and thrombin and pentosanpolysulfate (PPS), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
Nematicidal compositions and methods of using them
There is disclosed method of killing nematodes comprising the step of applying an effective amount of a nematicidal composition comprising a terpene component and compositions suitable for use in the method. The terpene component is preferably in association with water, either as a solution or a suspension. An excipient may also be included, which is suitably hollow glucan particles which encapsulate the terpene component.
Synergistic pharmaceutical composition useful for the treatment of lung cancer
The present invention relates to a synergistic pharmaceutical composition comprising Compound C2 (Neo-isopulegol), C3 (Iso-pulegol) and C4 (Citronellol) derived from herbal seed extract of Litsea cubeba useful for the treatment of lung cancer. The present invention also relates to the activity of compounds C2 or C3 or C4 either alone or in combination in killing of A549 lung cancer cells.
