Process to make textured glass
Systems and methods for texturing substrates (e.g., glass, metal, and the like) and the textured substrates produced using such systems and methods are disclosed. An exemplary system for texturing a substrate includes a first roller and a second roller. The first roller has a first textured surface. The first textured surface has a root mean square roughness between 40 to 1000 microns and an autocorrelation function greater than 0.5 for distances less than 50 microns.

Apparatus for compacting fibrous plant material, especially for compacting stalk material
An apparatus for pelletizing renewable raw materials, such as stalk material, having a feeding device for feeding the materials to be pelletized and having at least one press drum pair that is settable into opposite rotational movements, wherein the feeding device has a drivable conveyor belt which conveys the material to be compressed into the region of a feed hopper between the press drum pair, and which wraps around one of the two press drums regionally over an angle of at least 20 in order to form a precompaction region, and wherein the precompaction region has a constant width with respect to its length, said width corresponding more or less to the width of the press drums.
CURRENT-COLLECTOR METAL FOIL, CURRENT COLLECTOR, AND CURRENT-COLLECTOR-METAL-FOIL MANUFACTURING METHOD
A current-collector metal foil has at least at least one roughened surface and numerous recessed parts are present on the roughened surface. Each recessed part has an edge part that surrounds a bottom-surface part and is raised above the bottom-surface part.. The average Feret diameter L.sub.ave of the recessed parts is 0.5-50 m. The current-collector metal foil is suitable for use, e.g., as an electrode current collector for a lithium-ion secondary battery, a sodium secondary battery, an electric double-layer capacitor, or a lithium-ion capacitor.
Laminating body
A laminating body for laminating a foil onto a substrate includes a pressure area on which there is imprinted a structure which forms an embossing in the foil upon lamination of the foil onto the substrate.
Process for producing a casing for a roller press
A process for producing a casing for a roller press for subjecting particulate matter to be ground to high pressure treatment, the casing having a profiling defined by profile comb, wherein the process includes the steps of casting a cylindrical hollow body and introducing axial longitudinal grooves onto the surface of the cylindrical hollow body. The material for casting is of a particular composition, where that composition includes, among other components, between 0.0012% and 0.0027%, by weight, of phosphorus (P).
COMPRESSION BAR APPARATUS
Provided is a compression bar apparatus for applying pressure to desired areas of a thin film composite (TFC) membrane, such as spiral wound TFC membranes and elements, including membranes and elements used for nanofiltration, reverse osmosis or forward osmosis to purify water, such as tap water, seawater, and brackish water. Application of pressure to a spiral wound element by the apparatus produces a membrane with increased sealant penetration, reduced osmotic blistering, and minimal damage to the active area of the membrane. Also provided are methods of using the apparatus.
Apparatus for compacting fibrous plant material, especially for compacting stalk material
An apparatus for compacting stalk material, having a feeding device for feeding material to be pressed, having at least one pair of press drums which can be driven in opposite directions and which each have circumferential receiving grooves and compression rings in an alternate manner alongside one another in the axial direction, wherein the compression rings of one press drum engage in the receiving grooves of the other press drum, wherein at least one press drum is provided with a cavity and wherein this at least one press drum has a multiplicity of radially extending press channels in a manner distributed over the circumference, said press channels in each case connecting the groove bottom of the receiving grooves to the cavity, provision is made for the compression rings to have a circumferential profile having protrusions formed for example by radially external teeth having tooth tips.
METHOD TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF REMOVAL OF LIQUID WATER FROM SOLID BULK FUEL MATERIALS
The invention provides methods to efficiently reduce the water concentration of raw solid fuels, including low rank coals such as brown coal, lignite, subbituminous coal, and other carbonaceous solids. Efficiently drying these materials at low temperatures significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions and allows the production of low-rank coals for gasification and liquifaction.
ROLLER ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD
A roller arrangement is provided for a machine for applying a force to a display screen during assembly of the display screen to a frame. The roller arrangement has a first plate, for connecting the roller arrangement to a robot assembly, and a second plate. A roller is supported by the second plate. The roller can rotate and apply a force to a display screen during assembly of the display screen to a frame. At least one resilient member is arranged between the first plate and the second plate to connect the first plate and the second plate to each other such that the first plate and the second plate are spaced from each other. The resilient member can absorb a shock or excessive force applied to at least one of the first plate and the second plate.
