BOX BLANK
A box blank useful for forming a container includes a first layer including paperboard, a second layer including a paper layer and a foil layer, and an adhesive layer adhering the first layer to the second layer. The foil layer is between the paperboard and the paper layer.
Rim flattener apparatus and method
An apparatus for forming an upper edge of a paperboard container includes a pocket including a shell having a cavity with a mouth configured to receive the container along an axis such that the rim extends beyond the mouth. A workstation includes a forming member having a first forming surface which is actuatable toward the axis from a retracted position spaced from the rim to an extended position lying adjacent an upper end of the rim, and a forming segment having a second forming surface which is actuatable along the axis and the forming member in response to axial movement thereof such that the second forming surface is positioned spaced from a lower end of the rim. The second forming surface is actuatable along the axis towards the first forming surface to form the rim therebetween.
COATED PAPERBOARD CONTAINER, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A COATED PAPERBOARD CONTAINER, AND CUP BOTTOM FORMING APPARATUS
A method of manufacturing a coated paperboard container includes: providing a coated paperboard bottom blank, the coated paperboard bottom blank comprising a paperboard substrate and a first barrier coating layer on a first outermost surface of the paperboard substrate; heating the coated paperboard bottom blank; shaping the heated coated paperboard bottom blank, thereby forming a peripheral skirt portion about a periphery of a bottom wall portion of the coated paperboard bottom blank; and sealing a coated paperboard sidewall to the first barrier coating layer of the peripheral skirt portion.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INSERTING THERMAL INSULATING BOX LINERS
Apparatus and methods for assembling thermally insulated containers are disclosed. In one example, an apparatus for inserting a first insulating liner panel and a second insulating liner panel into a rectangular box to form a thermally insulated container includes a first station with a flap opening assembly, a second station with a first liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a first liner panel within the box, and a third station with a second liner panel insertion assembly for inserting a second liner panel within the box. A box transfer system is configured to transfer the box between the first station, the second station, and the third station. A flap guide system maintains the at least two of the lid flaps of the box in the open configuration as the box is transferred from the first station to the third station.
Paper-based composite container for off-gassing products, and method for making same
A paper-based composite container for an off-gassing product includes a paperboard can body having a substantially gas-impervious liner attached to an inner surface thereof, and a pair of substantially paper-based end closures attached to the opposite ends of the can body, each end closure defining a generally cylindrical sealing panel in contact with an inner surface of the can body. Heat-sealable materials are disposed on opposing surfaces of the sealing panel and can body. The sealing panels of the end closures are attached to the can body by heat seals. The heat seal for at least one of the end closures is discontinuous such that at least one vent channel extends through the heat seal to establish fluid communication between an interior of the container and the environment outside the container. The at least one vent channel is operable to vent excess gas pressure from the interior of the container.
Squeeze tube and method of making a squeeze tube
A squeeze tube includes a fluid-discharge container and a fluid-discharge closure mated to the fluid-storage container. The fluid-discharge closure is coupled to one end of the fluid-storage container and configured to discharge selectively fluid stored in a product-storage region formed in the fluid-storage container.
Packaging system comprising a cardboard structure
A packaging system comprising a trough and a packaging element separate therefrom for closing the trough, the packaging trough having an outer cardboard structure folded or formed from corrugated board with an insert of a single or multiple layer plastic film, the inner side of each side wall of the cardboard structure being connected by material means to the insert only in its upper part of the side wall, the insert forming a substantially identically shaped, but loose contact surface with the lower part of the inner side of each side wall down to the base of the packaging trough and the trough having at least one gas venting opening.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PACKAGING HAVING A CIRCUMFERENTIAL EDGE FLANGE AND A BARRIER FILM
A method for producing packaging comprises providing the shell part that defines an opening, a cavity at least partially formed by a bottom wall and side walls, and a continuously circumferential lower contact surface at a constant height around the opening of the cavity and providing a collar including the circumferential edge flange. At least one bottom tool is structured to comprise aa lower contact surface and a cavity configured to receive the shell part. At least one top tool is structured to comprise an upper contact surface. The shell part is inserted into the cavity of the at least one bottom tool and the collar is placed on the lower contact surface. A barrier film is placed over the edge flange and pressed to form a tray that is filled with goods. A sealing film is then pressed against the barrier film to seal the goods within the tray.
An apparatus for realising a cardboard strip for packaging by consecutively joining a plurality of cardboard sheets for packaging to one another
The apparatus (100) for realising a cardboard strip for packaging comprises: a store (M), for a stack (P) of cardboard sheets (C); gripping means (4), for picking up a cardboard sheet (F1) from the stack (P) and for positioning the second cardboard sheet (F1) on the first support (1) for the application of adhesive material; transfer means (6), for transferring the first cardboard sheet (F1) towards the second support (2), so that the first cardboard sheet (F1) is rested on the second support (2) with an end portion (E) thereof with the adhesive material projecting towards the store (M) and towards a third support (3).
The third support (3) is activatable into a raised configuration (S), to raise an end portion of a second cardboard sheet coming from the store and into a lowered configuration (A) so as to lower the end portion (E2) of the second sheet (F2) and position it at the end portion of the first sheet (F1). Pressor means (7) are activated transversally to the two sheets (F1, F2) so as to press the two superposed end portions (E, E2) of the two sheets (F1, F2) in order to fix the end portions (E, E2) to one another to form a cardboard strip (NC).
