METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING AND TAPING A SUBSTRATE AND A PRODUCT MADE BY THE METHOD
In one embodiment, a method for cutting and taping a substrate includes providing a substrate having a first side, a second side opposite the first side, and a perimeter. A first flexible joint is created in the substrate by making a first cut through the first side to the second side making first and second sections. A first length of tape is located along at least a portion the first cut to secure the sections together. A second flexible joint is created in the substrate by making a second cut through the first side to the second side. A second length of tape may connect the additional sections created by the second cut.
Flexible container with fitment and process for producing same
A flexible container is provided. The flexible container includes four panels. The four panels form (i) a body portion; (ii) a neck portion, and a flare portion that extends from the neck portion; (iii) a tapered transition portion between the body portion and the neck portion; and (iv) the neck portion has a reduced width. The flare portion has an expanded end. The width of the flare portion gradually increases from the neck portion to the expanded end.
Process for in situ production of microcapillary dispensing system for flexible pouch
In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a process for producing a flexible pouch is provided. The process includes placing a capillary precursor element (CPE) between two opposing flexible films. The flexible films define a common peripheral edge. The CPE comprises an array of pins sandwiched between two opposing polymeric strips. The process includes positioning a first side of the CPE at a first side of the common peripheral edge and positioning a second side of the CPE at a second side of the common peripheral edge. The process includes first sealing, at a first seal condition, (i) the opposing polymeric strips to each other to form a matrix, and (ii) sealing the matrix to the two opposing flexible films. The process includes removing the array of pins from the matrix to form an in situ microcapillary strip.
EASY OPEN PLASTIC BAGS
A woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature is provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from a woven polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a polyethylene film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.
Enhanced Flexible Material And Articles Formed Therefrom
A flexible film, and articles comprising the film, comprises interleaved pluralities of each of first bands and second bands disposed adjacent to the first bands. Both the first and second bands have a length and a width; the first bands comprise a first film basis weight and first and second regions. The first regions and second regions being comprised of the same material composition. The first regions undergo a substantially molecular-level deformation and the second regions initially undergo a substantially geometric deformation when the sheet material is subjected to an applied elongation along at least one axis. The second bands comprise a second film basis weight and a plurality of corrugations disposed along the length of the band. In this aspect the material may be described as having alternating bands of structural-elastic-like film and ring-rolled film.
DEVICE FOR OPENING AN END REGION OF A TUBULAR BAG BODY
A device for opening an end region of a bag body, which end region extends between an open tube body end and a bottom central line, having a transporting device, on which the bag body is transportable with adjacent tube walls at a transport rate (V) in a transporting direction, and suction devices arranged on both sides of the bottom central line, which are driven so as to be moveable transversely back and forth to the transporting direction, wherein the suction devices are movable in addition in the transporting direction back and forth. The suction devices are mounted at first articulated joints, wherein at each first articulated joint there are hinged two pivoting arms pivoting relative to one other, wherein each pivoting arm is pivotingly connected to a positioning pivoting arm by means of a second articulated joint and wherein each positioning pivoting arm is movably driven.
Visually Enhanced Tab File System
A tab system for a folder (10a), and a method of making same is disclosed. The tab is enlarged to carry more information/indicia. The visual indicia space (16a), i.e. the viewable space on the front (32a, 36a) of the folder which allows viewing of the enlarged tab is achieve without violating the overall size restrictions (40a) of the file folder. Instead, the front of the folder adjacent to the tab on the back panel, is cut away (32a,34a) to expose a greater portion of the back panel (14a) and allow an increase in visual indicia space. The remaining portion of the front panel, not adjacent to the tab may also be cut away (34a) to allow other enlarged tab files, with offset tabs, (22d, 21a) to be viewable behind the present file.
Foldable bag and a method of manufacturing a foldable bag
A foldable bag comprises a front sheet and a back sheet which are circumferentially joined to each other. The bag is disposed in a folded condition in which the bag has a reversed T-shape including a bottom and an upward portion extending upwardly from the bottom. In the folded condition of the bag, upward portion side edges are inwardly creased between the front sheet and the back sheet such that they face to each other. At the bottom, an inner bottom edge portion extends substantially within a plane of the upward portion and each of outer bottom edge portions extend substantially parallel above the inner bottom edge portion.
Method and Apparatus For Making Sealed Pouches
A method and apparatus for making pouches is disclosed. It includes using one or more of the following features: using two servo motors to drive a platen, providing a calibration routine is run at start-up and/or after the machine has been operating; controlling in response to feed back from the servo motor(s) such as feedback indicative of the distance the platen travels; the feedback is not of force exerted by the platen; and/or the platen is controlled to prevent unacceptable fracturing of the film laminate.
METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF FABRIC BAGS OR CONTAINERS USING HEAT FUSED SEAMS
A method of producing flexible polypropylene fabric bags with heat fused seams comprising providing fabric pieces, wherein each fabric piece has a coated side and an uncoated side; positioning fabric pieces so that a coated side of one fabric piece faces a coated side of another fabric piece; selecting an area of fabric to be joined for forming a seam or joint; applying heat to the area to be joined that is less than the melting point of the fabrics, for forming one or more seams or joints and wherein the heat fused seams or joints of a resulting polypropylene bag retains at least 85% of the fabric strength without using sewing machines.
