In certain embodiments, the present disclosure is directed to methods and uses for treating seizure disorders in a human, wherein the methods and uses comprise orally administering a therapeutically effective amount of the voltage-gated potassium channel allosteric modulator, N-[4-(6-fluoro-3,4-dihydro-1H-isoquinolin-2-yl)-2,6-dimethylphenyl]-3,3-dimethylbutanamide (Compound A), to the human in need thereof, for example, under fed conditions. The present disclosure is further directed to various improved methods of therapy and administration of Compound A.
Insecticide/miticide composition based on fatty acid salts
The present proposals relate to an insecticide or miticide composition which demonstrates low phytotoxicity even at relatively high concentrations combined with highly effective insecticidal and miticidal activity. The composition comprises: a fatty acid/amino acid salt, the fatty acid component comprising: one or more unsaturated fatty acids having from 14 to 22 carbon atoms; and one or more saturated fatty acids having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms; wherein the one or more saturated fatty acids having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms forms at least 15 wt. % of the fatty acid component, and wherein the weight ratio of (unsaturated fatty acids having from 14 to 22 carbon atoms) to (saturated fatty acids having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms) is at least 1. Uses of the compositions and methods of killing insects or mites using the compositions also form part of the proposals.
Bugphobic and icephobic compositions with fluid additives
Some variations provide an anti-fouling segmented copolymer composition comprising: (a) one or more first soft segments selected from fluoropolymers; (b) one or more second soft segments selected from polyesters or polyethers; (c) one or more isocyanate species possessing an isocyanate functionality of 2 or greater, or a reacted form thereof; (d) one or more polyol or polyamine chain extenders or crosslinkers, or a reacted form thereof; and (e) a fluid additive selectively disposed in the first soft segments or in the second soft segments. Other variations provide an anti-fouling segmented copolymer precursor composition comprising a fluid additive precursor selectively disposed in the first soft segments or in the second soft segments, wherein the fluid additive precursor includes a protecting group. The anti-fouling segmented copolymer composition may be present in an anti-ice coating, an anti-bug coating, an anti-friction coating, an energy-transfer material, or an energy-storage material, for example.

Application of methyl 4-[9-(6-aminopuryl)]-2(s)-hydroxybutyrate in preparation of medicament for treating psoriasis and vitiligo
Provided in the present invention is a use of methyl 4-[9-(6-aminopuryl)]-2(s)-hydroxybutyrate in the preparation of a medicament for treating psoriasis and vitiligo. More specifically, the present invention uses mice whose psoriasis is induced by an imiquimod cream to observe a changing condition in skin lesions on the psoriasis-like mice, according to a psoriasis skin lesion area of the mice and grading standards for disease severity; the present invention also observes a proportion of lymphocytes in the spleens and cytokines in skin lesion tissues of the mice. A good therapeutic effect may be obtained by treating typical cases of vitiligo with an ointment of methyl 4-[9-(6-aminopuryl)]-2(s)-hydroxybutyrate. Results show that methyl 4-[9-(6-aminopuryl)]-2(s)-hydroxybutyrate used in the present invention has a good therapeutic effect on psoriasis and vitiligo, as well as a favorable prospect in clinical application.
