An apparatus for coiling a paper strip is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing, a pin and a plunger. The pin having an end positioned external to the housing and an axis of rotation, the end having a slot elongated along the axis of rotation, the slot being sized to receive the paper strip. Further, the plunger is disposed on the housing and configured to translate away from the pin, the plunger having a plunger head positioned proximate to the slot of the pin, the plunger head having a surface aligned to press the paper strip against the pin.

An apparatus for coiling a paper strip is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing, a pin and a plunger. A cigarette filter manufacturing apparatus, includes, a stuffer jet which sends a tow together with air, a tongue which molds the tow into a bar, a convergence guide which is provided in a position between the stuffer jet and the tongue, and converges the tow while guiding the tow toward the tongue, and a plurality of thread introducing tubes, intervals between which are reduced toward downstream in a position between an outlet of the stuffer jet and an introducing part of the tongue, the thread introducing tubes supplying respective threads into the tow from respective downstream distal ends.

A quilling tool includes a housing, a motor, a spindle, and a platform. The motor is positioned inside the housing and coupled to a power source. The spindle is coupled to the motor and extends from the housing. The motor is operable to rotate the spindle when powered by the power source. The spindle has a portion for receiving a separate strip of paper. The platform is positioned adjacent the spindle and the housing. The platform is removable from the body in order to remove a wound strip of paper. A method for quilling strips of material is also included.

A quilling tool includes a housing, a motor, a spindle, and a platform. The motor is positioned inside the housing and coupled to a power source. The spindle is coupled to the motor and extends from the housing. The motor is operable to rotate the spindle when powered by the power source. The spindle has a portion for receiving a separate strip of paper. The platform is positioned adjacent the spindle and the housing. The platform is removable from the body in order to remove a wound strip of paper. A method for quilling strips of material is also included.

The invention concerns an elongated protective corner for the transport and/or packaging of products. The corner has at least two non-corrugated paperboard plies combined together to create two perpendicular wings and an apex The plies form multiple ply sections, and at least one of the ply sections of a given ply overlaps another ply section of the same ply. This overlapping arrangement gives the apex a resistance force of about 100 to about 500 lbs. The thickness of the corner can vary, with each wing being in the range of about 100 to about 250 points, and each ply is made from paperboard having a grammage of about 120 to about 380 g/m.sup.2. The resistance force can be determined by mounting the corner upon two blocks, and applying a force to the apex at a middle of the corner until a fracture is detected.

A container (100) includes a first container portion (101) and a second container portion (102). One or both can include an end member (105) and a cylindrical sidewall (103) extending from the end member. The cylindrical sidewall can include a central layer (301), an inner wrap (302), and an outer wrap (303). The central layer and the outer wrap can define one or more axially aligned apertures (304,305). A hang tab (106) defining a loop (107) and one or more socles (307,308) can be inserted through the apertures with the loop disposed exterior of the cylindrical sidewall and the one or more socles disposed between the central layer and the inner wrap.

A container (100) includes a first container portion (101) and a second container portion (102). One or both can include an end member (105) and a cylindrical sidewall (103) extending from the end member. The cylindrical sidewall can include a central layer (301), an inner wrap (302), and an outer wrap (303). The central layer and the outer wrap can define one or more axially aligned apertures (304,305). A hang tab (106) defining a loop (107) and one or more socles (307,308) can be inserted through the apertures with the loop disposed exterior of the cylindrical sidewall and the one or more socles disposed between the central layer and the inner wrap.

A paper product that includes an article of paper, a binding agent disposed on a surface of the article of paper, and an animal-affecting substance. The animal-affecting substance is bound to the strip of paper via the binding agent and the paper is in a twisted cord configuration such that the animal-affecting substance is disposed within an interior defined by the article of paper.
