STRAW MADE FROM PAPER OR PAPER-LIKE MATERIAL
A straw (1) made from paper or paper-like material and comprising a tubular body (3) having a circumference formed by a wall (5) surrounding a central axis and a bendable part extending axially along the central axis (6), wherein said bendable part comprises at least two corrugated profiles (8A-D) provided in the wall, and each corrugated profile comprises inward corrugations (9A-D) and outward corrugations (10A-D) being positioned one after the other in axial direction along the central axis, and a system and method to produce the straw.
INFLATORS FOR INFLATABLE WEBS WITH GAS MOVING DEVICES IN SERIES
An inflator inflates inflatable webs. The inflator includes a web supply holding device that holds a supply of an inflatable web, a first gas moving device having a first inlet for receiving gas and a first outlet for expelling gas, a second gas moving device having a second inlet for receiving gas and a second outlet for expelling gas, and a nozzle. The first outlet is coupled to the second inlet such that gas expelled from the first outlet is received by the second inlet. The nozzle is coupled to the second outlet and inserts gas expelled from the second outlet into the inflatable web to inflate the inflatable web. Parameters of the first and second gas moving devices are selected based on a type of the inflatable web.
PASSIVE TRACKING FOR INFLATABLE WEBS ALONG INFLATION NOZZLE
A system includes a supply of an inflatable web (100) and a nozzle (240). The inflatable web includes chambers (116), an inflation channel (112), and cross seals (114) between the inflation channel and the chambers. The inflatable web also includes ports (124) that pass through the cross seals to permit gas to pass from the inflation channel to the chambers. The nozzle has an outlet (242) configured to insert gas into the inflation channel as the inflatable web is moved in a downstream direction. The system is configured to feed the inflatable web along a path from the supply and past the nozzle in the downstream direction. The system is configured to hold the supply of the inflatable web with respect to the nozzle such that the cross seals contact the nozzle and rides along a portion of the nozzle as the inflatable web is moved in the downstream direction.
Shipping and dispensing box for slit sheet material
Exemplary embodiments pertain to a combined shipping and expansion device for shipping a roll of unexpanded slit sheet material and for expanding the slit sheet material. In some examples, the device includes: a container made with recyclable paper or board; a roll of slit sheet material wound around a core member and positioned within the container; the roll of slit sheet material having a slit pattern that forms open cells upon expansion; the core member being made with recyclable paper or board and having a length greater than a width of the roll of slit sheet wound around the core member and having protrusions that extend beyond each side of the roll of slit sheet material; a plurality of yoke members within the container, including at least one yoke member that rotatably receives a first of the protrusions and at least one yoke member that rotatably receives a second of the protrusions; and the container having a dispensing opening through which the slit sheet material wound around the core member can be extended and pulled, causing the core member to rotate relative to the yoke members via rotation of the roll of slit sheet material. The combined shipping and expansion device is made from substantially entirely recyclable paper or board materials, whereby after complete dispensing of the slit sheet material from the shipping and expansion device, the combined shipping and expansion device can be recycled in a paper recycling facility.
Fill material cutting mechanisms and methods
A system includes a source of sheet material and a conversion machine. The conversion machine is configured to receive the sheet material and to form the sheet material into a fill material. The conversion machine further includes a cutting mechanism configured to cut the fill material. The cutting mechanism is configured such that, when cutting the fill material to form two pieces of fill material, uncut portions of the fill material remain between the two pieces of fill material.
Method and System for Forming Domed Paper and Structures
A method and system for forming domes or protruded structures in a flat material such as paper is disclosed. The method includes cutting one or more sheets; applying an adhesive between the one or more sheets, joining the one or more sheets together in a registered manner to form a substrate, encapsulating the one or more sheets in a container to prevent curing of the adhesive, opening the container, and pressing the adhesive under pressure to shape the substrate into a desired shape may include the domes or protruded structures.
Cushioning member and method for manufacturing cushioning member
A cushioning member includes: an accommodating bag portion that accommodates a medium; a first fusing portion that defines the accommodating bag portion such that the accommodating bag portion is provided with an opening; a check valve having a first end located inside the accommodating bag portion and a second end located outside the accommodating bag portion, and provided at the opening; a second fusing portion that is immediately adjacent to the first fusing portion on those external sides of the check valve which are opposite in a direction intersecting a direction in which the check valve protrudes from the accommodating bag portion, and defines a channel that communicates with the opening; and a third fusing portion that is connected to the second fusing portion and seals the channel, the third fusing portion being provided across a portion of the check valve that protrudes from the accommodating bag portion.
Void-fill dunnage conversion machine, stock material support, and method
A machine for converting a sheet stock material into a dunnage product includes a conversion assembly for converting sheet stock material into a dunnage product as the sheet stock material travels along a path from an upstream end of the conversion assembly to a downstream end of the conversion assembly. The machine further includes a transversely extending guide over which the stock material passes for guided entry into the upstream end of the conversion assembly. The guide is rotatable such that the transverse extent of the guide can be moved between a plurality of relatively rotated orientations to guide the sheet stock material from different sides of the conversion assembly.
Business form and methods of making and using same
A business form comprises a first portion and a second portion adhesively secured to the first portion via a control bond adhesive. The control bond adhesive is a mixture comprising: between about 1 kg and 2 kg of a flexible adhesive; between about 1 kg and 2 kg of water; between about 12 g and 16 g gypsum, and between about 13 g and 23 g fumed silica.
