PACKAGING MATERIAL PRODUCTION MACHINE AND DIVERTER
A packaging material production machine for manufacturing a packaging material product may include a feed funnel for introducing packaging material from a web-shaped packaging material supply into the packaging material production machine, and a deflection shaft supported rotatably in a free-wheeling manner on the packaging material production machine for introducing the packaging material into the feed hopper. The deflection shaft may include lateral end portions whose diameters continuously increase outwardly at least in sections. The packaging material may be in the form of a leporello stack or in roll form.
Method and Apparatus for Folding and Opening-Up Wipes
Apparatus is provided for manufacturing a wipe in a three dimensional form out of an essentially flat piece of material. The apparatus produces a blank (12) of essentially flat planar form with a pleat folded on each side. The folded blanks are fed by a conveyor belt (21) to an opening station (22). The opening station comprises a pair of movable pinch rollers (34, 35) which selectively grab individual blanks from the conveyor belt and feed them via belts (32, 33) to a pair of counter-rotating drums (30, 31). The blanks are ejected from the drums, which partially opens them up in the process. The partially open blanks are fed onto a shaped former (37), where the final process of forming the wipe into its chosen three dimensional form is completed.
INFLATABLE AIRBAG WITHOUT HEAT-RESISTING LAYER ANDMANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
An inflatable airbag without a heat-resisting layer and its manufacturing method is provided, the inflatable airbag comprises two cavity films, wherein the boundaries of the two cavity films are glued together; the inflatable airbag further includes two valve films which are arranged between the two cavity films; first heat-seal lines are arranged at top ends of the valve films; the valve films and the adjacent cavity films are glued through the first heat-seal lines; the inflatable airbag further includes second heat-seal lines, wherein the second heat-seal lines include disconnected areas and heat-pressing areas which are arranged alternately; in the heat-pressing areas of the second heat-seal lines, the two valve films and two cavity films are glued together; an inflation channel is formed by portions of the two cavity films above the second heat-seal lines; a bag body is formed by portions of the two cavity films below the second heat-seal lines.
Dunnage forming machine and method of forming dunnage
A driven crimping gear (10) cooperates with the first idler crimping gear (12) and the second idler crimping gear (14). The gears pull paper of a roll (12) which paper has had the edges curled over. The paper is guided through the gears by plates (28) and (30).
Improved Drinking Straws and Manufacturing Process
Provided are improved drinking straws comprising an integrated device providing an anti-outflow capability, methods for their use, and processes for their manufacture. Specifically, the drinking straw is formed substantially of a cellulosic material and wherein the drinking straw and the device providing the anti-outflow capability comprising a flexible flap having a fixed end affixed to an interior surface of a sidewall of the drinking straw, and a part of the flexible flap obscuring an inlet orifice passing through the sidewall adjacent to the flexible flap and forming a liquid tight seal when a reduced pressure condition exists within the interior flow passage of the drinking straw.
Center-fed dunnage system feed and cutter
A dunnage system may include a converting station including a converter configured for pulling in a stream of sheet material and converting the material into dunnage, and an inlet guide having an inlet surface that is coiled such that first and second ends of the inlet surface are discontinuous with each other to define a gap therebetween, the inlet surface configured to channel the sheet material into the converter. A cutter for a dunnage system may include a blade with first and second phases of serrations that are coextensive over at least a portion of the blade, the first phase providing cutting serrations for cutting the dunnage, and the second phase comprising ledges for focusing the cutting and preventing or reducing bunching of the dunnage towards a side of the blade. A method of converting dunnage may also be provided.
Method and apparatus for producing a padding product, and padding product
Method for producing a padding product, comprising the following steps: providing a flat, elongate paper strip, which has a central region extending in the longitudinal direction and two-layered or multi-layered adjacent edge regions, which are not joined to one another, opening up adjacent edge regions, and crumpling the paper strip along the central region, characterized in that before the crumpling along the central region the edge regions are turned over towards the center region, and a device for producing a padding product, and a padding product.
Drinking straw with piercing end
A drinking straw includes a generally elongate tube having a sidewall defining an internal bore, wherein one end of the straw is provided with a piercing projection formed from a portion of the sidewall and reinforced by a folded portion of the sidewall. The straw is manufactured from an elongate tube on which a piercing projection is formed at one end by folding a portion of the sidewall at that end to reinforce the projection.
EXTENSIBLE PAPER AND ITS USE IN THE PRODUCTION OF EXPANDED SLIT PACKAGING WRAP AND VOID FILL PRODUCTS
An extensible slit sheet paper product is produced having an expandable slit pattern that forms open cells upon expansion of the paper product. The paper product is an extensible paper having an extensibility in the range from 1-9% in the machine direction and 1-5% in the cross direction. The expansion produces an array of hexagonal cells. The expanded extensible paper can be used to wrap an object for shipping by wrapping and cushioning the object in the expanded slit sheet material. The extensible, expandable slit sheet paper can be wrapped around itself to produce a void fill product.
Coiler for a dunnage conversion machine and method for coiling a strip of dunnage
A coiler for producing tighter or smaller coils of dunnage uses a cam to move fork pins from a dunnage-receiving position inwardly to a more closely-spaced coiling position. The fork pins are coupled to pin mounts that cooperate with the cam and slots in a guide plate to move the parallel fork pins between the dunnage-receiving and coiling positions. The fork pins are mounted to extend perpendicular to and through the guide plate on opposing sides of a path of the dunnage to capture and wind a dunnage strip into a coil.
