Strip splicing

The present invention concerns a method of splicing two sealing strips and a sealing strip formed by the method. The sealing strip is placed at longitudinal edges of a packaging material web, used for packaging containers for liquid foods. The sealing strips to be spliced are cut each forming an oblique edge of about 45, as seen in plan view. The oblique edges are then placed one on top of the other forming an overlapping area. The overlapping area is in the form of an oblique band having a length of about 3 mm. The ends of the sealing strips are then fused together by heating both from one side at the overlapping area.

CARDBOARD SHEET-CUTTING DEVICE, CUTTING CONTROL UNIT THEREFOR, AND CARDBOARD SHEET-MANUFACTURING APPARATUS

Regarding a cardboard sheet-cutting device, a cardboard sheet-cutting control unit and a cardboard sheet-manufacturing apparatus, continuous cutting is made during job changes, in which the cardboard sheet cutting width changes, without stopping conveyance of the cardboard sheets, by a printing unit for printing cutting marks on a double-faced cardboard sheet; a slitter scorer for cutting the double-faced cardboard sheet to a specified width; a cutoff for cutting the double-faced cardboard sheet to a specified length; a mark detector for detecting cutting marks; a movement unit for moving the mark detector along the width direction of the double-faced cardboard sheet; and a cutting control unit for performing control to actuate the cutoff on the basis of the detection results of the mark detector and moving the mark detector using the movement unit on the basis of job-change timing data and post-job change mark position information.

A strapping core corrector comprising a first arcuate side, a second arcuate side, at least open slide coupled therebetween, and a linear expansion member is provided. The first arcuate side and the second arcuate side include a flange and a collar disposed substantially perpendicular to one another. The at least one slide is coupled to an end of the first arcuate side and the second arcuate side. The linear expansion member is coupled to the first arcuate side and the second arcuate side and it configured to expand the first arcuate side and the second arcuate side to correct a deformed core of a roll of strapping.

MARKING DEVICE AND MARKING METHOD

To provide a marking device that enables to easily find a tag determined as defective (RFID error, etc.) among a plurality of tags that are stacked or the like. The marking device to use with a sheet includes cut and raising part for forming, as a failure process, a cut and raised section to be positioned at an edge of the sheet having been found the defect.

Informational item forming method

A method of using a folding apparatus to form an outsert having product information printed thereon comprises applying a plurality of parallel lines of water to a sheet of paper; making a plurality of folds in the sheet of paper in a direction parallel to a first direction with a first folding apparatus to form a first folded article; making a plurality of folds in the first folded article in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to form an intermediate folded article; and making a final fold in the intermediate folded article in the second direction to form the outsert. Making the final fold may include forcing the intermediate folded article between a pair of adjustably-spaced folding members, the adjustably-spaced folding members to be adjustably spaced apart from each other by a distance that is within a range defined by a lower boundary of 0.25 inches and an upper boundary of 0.45 inches.

A wrinkle smoothing device for a composite body of a continuous sheet related to an absorbent article includes a first belt that moves along a first travel path while retaining the central portion of the continuous sheet, and second and third belts that move along second and third travel paths while retaining side portions of the continuous sheet. The second and third travel path are inclined from the first travel path such that a downstream side is more spaced apart from the first travel path than an upstream side. The second and third belts retain side portions of the continuous sheet while relatively sliding in the width direction of the continuous sheet.

A bodily fluid absorbent matrix adapted to restrict a wet feeling against the wearer's skin after the absorbent matrix in a bodily fluid absorbent wearing article having absorbed bodily fluids and a method for manufacturing the absorbent matrix. A bodily fluid absorbent wearing article has an absorbent matrix formed of aggregate of bodily fluid absorbent material between a liquid-permeable first sheet and a liquid-impermeable second sheet. The member includes hydrophilic fibers as the bodily fluid absorbent material. Density of the absorbent matrix changes so as to increase from the first sheet toward the second sheet in thickness direction of the absorbent matrix. A planar orientation index of the hydrophilic fibers also changes so as to increase in the thickness direction of the absorbent matrix.
