Joint structure

A joint structure includes: a first same-type metal member; a second same-type metal member that can be mutually welded with the first same-type metal member; and a different-type member that has a penetrating portion, is interposed between the first same-type metal member and the second same-type metal member. In the plate thickness direction of an emission region in which a laser beam is emitted toward the penetrating portion, the plate thickness at the emission region of the first same-type metal member positioned on the side on which the laser beam is emitted is a predetermined thickness corresponding to a first gap. The first same-type metal member and the second same-type metal member are fused and bonded together via the penetrating portion, and the different-type member is compressed and fixed, such that the different-type member is fixed to the first same-type metal member and the second same-type metal member.

Method of making wooden board assembly

A method of making a wooden board assembly includes A) determining a scrap portion of a trunk; B) cutting the trunk horizontally to form multiple boards; C) removing narrow scraps and trimmed sections of each of the multiple boards to obtain multiple trimmed wide boards, and cutting narrow board areas from the scrap portion to form multiple peripheral boards; D) removing a part of the scrap portion and two trimmed sections from each of the multiple peripheral boards; E) connecting the multiple trimmed wide boards and the multiple peripheral boards to form a substrate; F) adhering two straps on the substrate to produce a wood pattern assembly; G) cutting the wood pattern assembly to form multiple cut films; H) adhering one of the multiple cut films with a nonwoven fabric with a transparent adhesive and connecting the multiple cut films on a fixing lamination; and I) cutting the fixing lamination.

Multilayer hydrophilic coating and methods of making the same

Disclosed is a multilayer hydrophilic coating, comprising: a base layer comprising oxide particles, wherein a shape of an oxide particle is a hollow, generally spherical shell; a topcoat layer deposited on the base layer, wherein the topcoat layer comprises a sol-gel; and a doping agent, wherein the doping agent is located within the topcoat layer, deposited on the topcoat layer, located between the base layer and the topcoat layer, or combinations thereof.

A sound-deadening product for a flooring system with a subfloor may be installed by a single installer. The sound-deadening product has a sound-deadening upper portion with a bottom surface and a subfloor contacting layer affixed to the bottom surface of the sound-deadening upper portion. The subfloor contacting layer may include a film or be a laminate. The laminate may include a nonwoven sheet and a film. The nonwoven sheet is generally co-extensive with the sound-deadening upper portion. The nonwoven sheet is adhered to the bottom surface of the sound-deadening upper portion. The film is generally co-extensive with the nonwoven sheet. The film is a polymer film with a thickness ≤3 mils. An upper surface of the film is adhered to a bottom surface of the nonwoven sheet, and a bottom surface of the film is in contact with the subflooring. A method for single installer installation of the sound-deadening product is also disclosed.
